The award winning One Spa has an exciting opportunity for a Spa Receptionist.

Responsibilities include:
Working as part of a team of Spa Receptionists to deliver outstanding guest service. Assisting in driving the financial performance of the spa including retail sales, treatment scheduling and up selling. The role also involves taking care of day guests, hotel guests and spa members. You will:

• Ensure a warm friendly welcome to all guests
• Have a complete knowledge of the treatments and services offered, and any promotions that may be on offer at the time
• Co-ordinate guests' consultation records with our therapy team.
• Be responsible for all billing procedures at the reception desk and the correct reconciliation of funds at the close of each shift and at the end of the day's work.
• Complete daily opening procedures and check lists per relevant area daily.

• Organise scheduling to maximise use of time and profitability whilst ensuring that the client's needs are of first importance.
• Show a professional attitude at all times, particularly with regard to punctuality, appearance and general manner.
• Supervise and conduct the safety of users and equipment of the spa and receive training to endure that all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the spa.
• Recognise the importance of "sales" in every aspect of your role.
• Be responsible for preparing the reception area and desk for the next shift, ensuring all messages have been passed on before leaving and that adequate supplies at all public information material are available.
• Ensure guest areas, including locker areas and fitness areas, are kept clean and up to standard, following our Commitment to Clean guidelines

Role:

• Whilst on shift you will be Duty Manager for the hotel

• Assist with revenue management tasks such as building rates and packages in Opera PMS
• Ensure all billing instructions are correct and actioned
• Follow Health and Safety procedures; point of contact for emergency situations
• Ensure all internal and external phones calls are responded to and followed up on
• Take In Room Dining orders and liaise with F&B accordingly
• Assist with Concierge requests and ensure public areas are well maintained and looked after
• Run the Night Audit and prepare the End of Day Pack

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is energetic and self-motivated with a "can do" attitude and who is ready to take the next step on your career path. Ideally you will have at least two years of experience within the Front Office department within a 5 star environment, with supervisory experience preferred.

Role Overview

Managing Core Standards

• Ensures that regular, on-going communication occurs in all areas of food and beverage (e.g., pre-meal briefings, staff meetings). Help run departmental meetings with the aim of strengthening relationship with the teams and facilitate open lines of communication
• Directly responsible for conducting appraisals of relevant direct reports and oversee appraisal process in the various outlets.
• Fully support the Engagement Survey process and participation where required, offering any assistance in action planning and positively improving team motivation and engagement.

Role:

The Duty Engineer is responsible for the delivery of 1st fix maintenance as requested throughout the property, planned preventative maintenance schedules, and the undertaking of designated Health & Safety duties across the hotel and spa. You will take part in the Department Duty Engineer shift rota providing 24/7 cover.

* Demi Chef de Partie: Take on more responsibility for specific kitchen sections.

* Chef de Partie: Oversee a section of the kitchen and mentor junior staff.

* Junior Sous Chef: Assist the senior team in managing the kitchen, leading by example.

Essential Functions

To work with the One Square Bar team to ensure achievement of strategic departmental goals, especially in the area of guest satisfaction. To be prepared to work all shifts within the outlet to create a fully multi-skilled and productive Beverage team.

We are currently recruiting for a Duty Maintenance Engineer to join the team here at The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is one of Scotland's leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities of any hotel in Edinburgh with a capacity of up to 500 as well as our award winning ONE SPA and our One Square Restaurant and bar.

Role:

The Duty Engineer is responsible for the delivery of 1st fix maintenance as requested throughout the property, planned preventative maintenance schedules, and the undertaking of designated Health & Safety duties across the hotel and spa. In addition our ideal candidate is expected to have knowledge and where necessary assist in all other general FM tasks, as directed by management. You will take part in the Department Duty Engineer shift rota providing 24/7 cover.

• React to requests to assess and repair where possible, faults with all aspects of the buildings including HVAC, lighting & small power issues, plumbing problems, Pool plant and Thermal suite
• Communication to ensure accurate record keeping is maintained for reporting.
• Undertake and record regular Planned Preventative Maintenance and Health & Safety schedules to include monthly emergency lighting testing, tap/shower head descaling, lighting checks, temperature checks of water systems as specified in the site Water Risk Assessment, fire alarm testing, fire equipment checks, meter readings, running generator, pool plant etc.
• Carry out Health & Safety testing to include the Control of Legionella.
• Take ownership of designated role as part of the Hotel emergency evacuation procedure.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is energetic and self-motivated and who is ready to take the next step on your career path. Ideally you will have at least 2 years' experience within a similar environment.

Our expectations of you will be that you are able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and have a strong desire to improve on your skills and knowledge as well as:

• Good oral and written communication skills
• Must have previous experience of working in a maintenance environment, preferably Hotels, 2-3 years minimum
• Required to complete all required relevant documentation including: inspection results, surveys, work order and reporting systems Knowledge of H&S procedures e.g. COSHH, Risk Assessments and safe systems of work.
• Awareness of Energy Management and the requirement to run systems efficiently and cost effectively.
• Must have a good Level and understanding of Health & Safety
• Previous Fire Warden trained
• Pool Plant experience. Pool plant operator qualified preferable
• Understanding and awareness of HVAC systems. With the ability to fault find and resolve.
• Knowledge and understanding of Fire alarm and sprinkler systems
• Good all round knowledge of electrical distribution and fault finding 17th edition wiring regulations qualified preferable
• BMS experience. The ability to fault find and the awareness carry out alterations to improve the office environment
• Knowledge of System drawings O&M manuals and other relevant documentation and procedures.
• Requires understanding and using various hand tools, electrical tools, and test and inspection equipment.

Act as a liaison between Housekeeping, Guests and other departments to ensure a positive hotel experience for guest rooms and public areas. This position provides a visible and accessible floor presence in order to anticipate, understand and act upon Housekeeping associates' needs. The position responds to guest requests on the floor and additionally will assist the Executive Housekeeper with day-to-day operations of the housekeeping departments.

Essential Functions:

To ensure that all areas under his/her control are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and tidiness.

Collection and delivery of guest laundry in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsible for delivery, collection and making up of cots to required standard.

Responsible for maintaining standards of irons and ironing boards.

Delivery of, duvets, pillows and bedboards and maintaining service area supplies as required.

Responsible for ensuring service areas and lifts are clean and well maintained at all times, removing any rubbish, dirty crockery, glassware etc.

Assist in training new porters as and when required.

Answering pager and dealing with all requests and general housekeeping enquiries
