POSITION SUMMARY/MISSION
The Director, Global Supply Chain Sustainability is responsible for providing leadership and management of Samsonite’s supply chain sustainability program in support of Our Responsible Journey, the company’s global sustainability strategy. This role will focus on social and environmental topics including but not limited to human rights, climate, and sustainable materials. The role works closely with key internal and external partners, including our sourcing, product development, design, legal, and other teams, as well as with our suppliers and other partners.
This role will be based in Singapore.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The successful candidate will engage cross-functionally to drive and further evolve supply chain sustainability strategy and, importantly, partner on the implementation and delivery of these critical initiatives. The company is seeking an individual who is a skillful translator of a diverse set of topics to our regions and brands and who helps to effectively integrate and embed sustainability into the business, driving progress towards our global sustainability goals.
Strategy
• Partner with our Regional Presidents, Sourcing and Brand leads to provide strategic direction on how to implement the company’s commitments and goals in Our Responsible Journey in our supply chain, build out programs, procedures and governance;
• Maintain and evolve our Sustainable Material Guidance, in partnership with the regions;
• Provide strategic direction for our Global Social Compliance Program, working closely with the Associate Director, Social Compliance, who is responsible for the execution of the Program.
Engagement and Implementation
• Develop and lead supplier engagement program to support the execution and achievement of the company’s sustainability goals (e.g., Human Rights, Scope 3 climate initiatives, Sustainable Material Guidance etc.), in close partnership with the regions;
• Lead Human Rights Due Diligence work, partner with key functions to support internal and external implementation;
• Internal capability building with sourcing teams and business leads on Supply Chain Sustainability.
Monitoring
• Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the risks and opportunities related to the environmental and social impacts of the company’s materials sourcing and manufacturing footprint;
• Monitor recent ESG developments and issues potentially affecting our supply chain;
• Monitor regulatory requirements and develop company response (e.g., CSDDD);
• Track company and supplier performance through suitable sustainability metrics in line with the company’s reporting requirements, in close collaboration with our Associate Manager, Sustainability;
• Support the ongoing monitoring and management of the Samsonite Human Rights approach (in collaboration with Sourcing and HR).
Others
• Contribute to the company’s annual sustainability data collection and ESG Report process as well as other sustainability communication, in close collaboration with our Manager, Sustainability Communications;
• Support other sustainability efforts as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
Experience and qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, sustainability or similar.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in sustainability, with at least 6 years focus on responsible sourcing, supply chain sustainability and/or Human Rights.
• Strong understanding of corporate sustainability, ESG, supply chains and procurement, familiarity with sustainability reporting.
Skills:
• Strong project management abilities, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Successful track record of strategic planning with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and personal presentation skills.
• Experience managing in a decentralized corporate environment, with ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with leaders at all levels.

Domestic travel: 10%
International travel: 30-40%
