Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage client operations team consisting of production managers and coordinators that support localization and media services for one or more client accounts
• Support Client Account Lead (Director or VP, Client Ops), managing parts of the account as needed
• Own the entire client experience, from professionalized onboarding to high performance day-to-day servicing (ultimately ensuring the company is delivering best-in-class quality, security, on-time delivery and overall customer satisfaction)
• Work with Account lead to evaluate/establish performance metrics, introducing improvement solutions and enhancing the customer experience
• Own the financial data accuracy and billing process for your accounts, working with all relevant teams to ensure data accuracy and timely billing 
• Ensure optimum engagement with your teams’ customers as well as across all service lines and related departments
• Support Pixelogic’s vision and represent the best interests of both the customer as well as the company
• Other duties as assigned

Leadership & Management:

• Lead, manage and mentor team members to become high performing production managers and coordinators (including building, recruiting and training the team)
• Work closely with all operational departments to ensure quality, security and on-time delivery
• Engage technology and admin groups as necessary to support account servicing and solutions 
• Utilize dashboards, reports and metrics to monitor production milestones and status
• Successfully manage employees that work remotely from home (WFH) or other company locations
• Help build and evolve the company and team culture

Planning:

• Successfully plan and execute complex, high security and global production schedules for features, series and related promotional materials
• Work with supervisor to proactively staff and manage resources based on forecasted revenue and company needs
• Establish and manage effective meeting schedules for clients and internal teams
• Lead capacity planning process for your customers, ensuring accuracy in rolling demand versus capacity forecasts

Continuous Improvement:

• Lead creation and/or management of documentation and training of client workflows, pricing, profiles, style guides and other requirements
• Lead and manage Corrective Action Report (CAR) process for client rejections and other issues to ensure proper processes/procedures are always in place to prevent issues from happening and especially recurring 
• Create and assign Operational Initiatives (OI’s) in collaboration with technology, operational and admin teams to continuously improve workflows related to your accounts

Finance:

• Participate in revenue forecasting process for your accounts, ensuring that all revenue data is accurate on a rolling basis
• Ensure all service quotes are professionally and accurately created, presented and negotiated with clients
• Ensure pricing and service rates, including re-work and change orders, are accurately applied to all services related to your accounts
• Ensure that all services are billed accurately and timely, working in collaboration with the accounting team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3+ years of experience in high performance leadership, management and client servicing roles
• Strong knowledge of localization and media services for features and series
• Experience in managing and motivating teams
• Demonstrated excellence with highly detailed production planning and execution
• Managerial level skills with computers, Microsoft Office, and using different software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive mindset that is solutions and service oriented
• Ability to multi-task while also maintaining focus and attention to detail

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast expanding multidisciplinary team in Tokyo.

As a Media Technician, you will be performing operational duties while working with industry standard kit and processing jobs via our proprietary workflow management system. Duties will include: mastering, encoding, transcoding, manipulating files and conforming to client specifications along with simple conforming and asset re-versioning.

Responsibilities:

• Conforming content adhering to platform specifications – Netflix, Amazon ROW / Classic, iTunes, Microsoft etc.
• Audio and video program editing, conversion, encoding and quality assurance for theatrical and episodic releases
• Clear understanding of the fundamentals of file-based editing workflows
• Re-versioning and compliance editing
• A good knowledge and understanding in post-production media workflows including tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Clipster and ProTools
• Telestream Vantage experience would be advantageous
• Clear understanding on 4k (UHD), HDR and IMF is required
• Must have an understanding of subtitling specification and formats, audio sample rates, video frame rates, SMPTE timecode and traditional multi-channel audio configurations (2.0, 5.1, 7.1) is necessary
• Localizing static or motion graphics for foreign market
• Confident working in subtitling applications, such as EZ Titles, Mac Caption, Annotation Edit
• Ensuring Industry Content Security protocols and best practice are always followed
• Ability to work flexible shifts (AM, PM, Weekends).
  • Shifts available - Sunday-Thursday / Tuesday-Saturday / Monday-Friday
  Role will be a 1 year fixed term contract with possibility for extension OR change to permanent position.

Role Definition: This is a key role to lead all Japan operations including client and media operations and business development. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in Digital Media and Localization project management, coupled with a good understanding of current and new technologies and workflows. In addition, the candidate will be highly motivated, business savvy, and able to work as the leader of operations in Japan. 

Responsibilities:  

• Oversee operations at a facility level; responsible for quality, on-time deliveries and excellent customer service 
• Manage all teams in Japan across all lines of business, motivating and leading by coaching, training, recruiting and building a world class organization 
• Responsible for building and managing all levels of client relationships across different lines of business in region 
• Establish world class customer service initiatives, ensuring the highest level of quality and communication with clients; initiating tools like the Executive summary, VIP project and flight plans as needed for client projects 
• Work with global facilities and teams to create plans for complex worldwide projects and manage the successful execution of them 
• Provide strategic solutions to any issues that may arise with clients 
• Collaborate with operational teams to build processes, make sure the workflow operates smoothly and efficiently, and enhance the client experience 
• Identify areas of opportunity to enhance clients’ experience and work closely with other department leaders to drive initiatives and to execute on those opportunities 
• Abide by security policies and protect information and assets entrusted to you 

• Work with global and in-territory operational teams to continuously improve workflows and clients’ experience on day-to-day workflows and deliveries and to mitigate risks in quality and delivery deadlines 
• Manage the quoting and billing process for client orders 
• Develop and roll out process improvements 
• Lead Corrective Action Report process upon client rejections and issues to ensure we have proper processes/procedures in place to prevent an issue from happening more than once.  
• Engage and help lead data collection, prep and presentation of client QBRs 
• Lead and coordinate global client focused teams supporting in-territory project managers off shift

Qualifications 

• Fluent Japanese speaker with the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both Japanese and English 
• Direct experience in localization, media industry and post-production workflows 
• Passionate about customer experience and customer service excellence  
• Possess strong leadership skill 
• Capable of understanding workflows and technology directly related to localization and media services

• Establish & oversee graphics production teams to localize graphics at any stage, from origination through to final delivery, across a broad spectrum of formats, platforms, and devices

Responsibilities

• Set up of playback devices, QC bays, and monitors/scopes in preparation for QC
• Conduct audio/video/subtitle evaluations on various types of digital media
• Check for audio sync as well as subtitle & closed caption sync and positioning
• Measure video and audio peaks to ensure compliance to client specifications
• Create professional, detailed reports
• Follow and complete QC checklists with focus on accuracy
• Written and verbal communication providing detailed feedback to project managers and clients
• Utilize and monitor a production workflow database, inputting data as necessary to track progress.
• Close adherence to security policies which are established to protect Pixelogic systems and client assets.

General Job Description The Distribution Encoder will be responsible for creating digital media deliverables and packages in several formats for film and television content. Technical knowledge of digital media and its core components, including video mezzanine formats, audio, metadata, subtitles, closed captions and artwork is necessary. Tasks may include video and audio editorial; transcoding and encoding; frame rate conversions; video repairs and restoration; audio conforming / retiming; subtitle reformats; metadata XML creation / editorial; quality control. Extensive knowledge of video encoding and transcoding systems is essential. A background in processing UHD media is a plus. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, possesses a flexible attitude, and adapts quickly in a fast-paced environment. In addition, they must be able to work as part of a team that deals with changing priorities and workloads. Attention to detail and efficient multitasking is mandatory for the Distribution Encoder role.

About the role

Manage and lead technical operations teams consisting of encoding operators, mastering operators, QC and audio/media operators located in Tokyo as an extension of a larger global team of individuals supporting Pixelogic’s global operation.

In this role the candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day deadlines, communicating with project management staff and company executives. In addition, this position will be the primary point of contact with the global department leads located in Los Angeles, California, and will be responsible to champion the latest technical specs and clients’ needs for successful global operations between Los Angeles, London, Cairo, Cape Town, Tokyo, and Seoul.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of the various content specifications. They will be highly motivated, possess a flexible attitude, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. In addition, they must be able to work as part of a team that deals with changing priorities and workloads. Attention to detail and efficient multitasking are mandatory. Extensive knowledge of video encoding and transcoding systems is essential. A background in processing UHD media is a plus.

The candidate will be trained as a Pixelogic pHelix systems expert to support, train and advise operations across APAC. The candidate will support the APAC executive team in rolling out new initiatives to customers and attending meetings as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

The role reports to VP of Technical Operations in US and locally supports GM of Korea/Japan.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment.
• Oversee day-to-day local and a part of global technical operations.

• Maintain constant communication with cross-functional support teams to ensure proper operations.
• Forecast project capacity requirements and create production action plans.
• Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, eliminate inefficiencies, and adhere to the highest service quality standard.
• Continuously develop and deliver technical training programs for the technical operations team.
• Train and document new/different procedures.

• Partner with Technology team to introduce and improve proprietary tools and systems.

• 8 + years of experience in Digital Media and post-production project management.
• 2+ years in audio post-production or media service projects for film and tv

• Experience in post-production media workflows including tools such as Telestream Vantage, Da Vinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, and ProTools.
• Clear understanding of subtitling specifications and formats, audio sample rates, video frame rates and compressions, SMPTE timecode, and traditional multi-channel audio configurations (2.0, 5.1, 7.1) is necessary.
• Familiarity and working knowledge with some of the tools and applications including but not limited to DVS Clipster, Colorfront Transkoder, and Aurora are essential.
• Experience in IMF mastering.
• Demonstrable experience in picture and audio editing and transcoding is required.
