Position Overview

Responsible for managing the overall performance of part of the Medicine books group: a group of Asia-based editors within the team as well as the publishing programs they work on. Responsibilities include long-term planning for growth and development of the book program (including Open Access books), developing and executing ideas for new products and product lines within publishing and the management of editors. In addition, responsible for increasing company profitability via acquisitions that are consistent with the Springer’s reputation as a high-quality, high-level professional and academic publisher.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning:

• Assesses overall trends in the medicine, biomedicine and life science research landscape and translates these into Springer product (including new products and new product lines when applicable)
• Prepares long-term planning documents and strategic goals as requested
• Evaluates strategies, strengths and weaknesses of competitors
• Maintains communication with US, European and Asia-based editorial counterparts about specific immediate questions as well as long-term strategy questions.

Management:

• Coordinates the overall direction of the group he or she is responsible for. This includes: frequent contact with the team members via phone, email and in person, general supervises activities, performance monitoring, and representing the group as appropriate in dealing with other departments and branches of Springer Nature
• Responsible for the publication and planning of both titles published and signings in the group.
• Prepares, reviews, and manages the T&E budget for his or her group.
• Works with each acquisitions editor in ensuring signings and in-production goals are met or surpassed.
• Maintains communication with US, European and Asia-based editorial counterparts about specific immediate questions as well as long-term strategy questions. Works with various branches in coordination of the international program
• Assesses training an development needs for staff.

Editorial:

• Next to the duties described above, the Editorial Director can manage a small publication program.
• The ED can pursue an active and efficient acquisitions policy through correspondence, meetings/trips, telephone, consultations with advisors, etc.
• Prepares and executes publishing contracts.
• Maintains and develops a circle of reviewers and advisors and evaluates their judgments.

MANAGERIAL OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Manages 4-6 acquisitions editors, some of whom in turn have one or two direct reports of their own. Supervises a total staff of fifteen to eighteen Springer employees (acquisitions editors)

We are seeking qualified B737NG, B777, B744, B787 flight simulator instructors for instructing positions in Singapore. About the Position

As a member of the APAC Solutions team, the Energy Market Analyst will be responsible for engaging directly with both potential and existing clients to increase sales and deliver technical work. The successful candidate will help drive Energy Exemplar’s growth in markets across the APAC region, by working with the sales team to identifying relevant customer use cases and assist in the development of the go to market strategy. The energy market analyst will act as an energy markets subject matter expert, responsible for thought leadership towards customers. They will seek to understand the customers challenges, identify solutions within the Energy Exemplar product offerings, and articulate the value proposition within the marketplace. The role has a heavy modelling focus.

The successful candidate will be expected to heavily contribute to the building of energy market models for those regions, using Energy Exemplar’s flagship PLEXOS software tool (the role does not require programming/software development). The candidate should have a good understanding of fundamental market price drivers, and ideally have experience in stochastic optimization techniques.

This energy market analyst works in close collaboration with a team of technical subject matter experts. The position is supported by strong training, coaching, and mentoring and provides opportunity for professional growth and career advancement, as well as international travel to customer sites. 1. Development of the Asian Market (50%)

The company's ambition to open an office in Asia is highly dependent on the success with new accounts in the region. Therefore, in order to accelerate the timelines, one of our objectives will be to participate in activities that aim to grow The company’s position in Asia. Being part of the Solutions Engineering & Partnerships team, you will support our ambition to acquire new Asian customers and to delight them during the first months by leveraging your deep industry knowledge. In particular, we expect from you to:

• Support the sales team in Asia as a solutions and industry expert
• Identify & prioritize new Asian accounts according to a consistent set of criteria, in line with overall business objectives
• Provide demos and work on the first “Trial Value Pack” (i.e. old “pilots, in a paid way) when necessary, potentially on-site (AWEX).
• Bring high-quality results and large impact to our new customers and highlight this added value to their management.

Job Overview - Manager for Programs and Engagement (Asia)

The Manager for Programs and Engagement (Asia) “MPE” works with the University leadership to promote and execute a robust outreach and engagement strategy across Asia. The primary objective of this role is to elevate Georgetown’s profile in the region by fostering strong connections with alumni, donors, institutional partners, prospective students (and their families) and lending support to program development and delivery in Asia. Key to this role is the ability to build and manage relationships with internal university stakeholders including senior administrators, faculty, and staff, in order to communicate to partners in Asia a deep understanding of the university’s academic programs and institutional priorities in the region.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

The MPE reports to the Vice President for Global Engagement and works closely with Office of Advancement on leading donor relation strategies. S/he supports the College’s educational partnerships in and assists Georgetown leadership on engagement trips across Asia.

This position has been designated as Remote. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Business, International Affairs, or related field.
• At least eight years of experience in higher education administration preferably in alumni relations and/or advancement.

Responsibilities

Donor Relations

Ø Work with University leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive outreach and engagement strategy tailored specifically for the Asian region in alignment with GU’s goals and

Ø priorities.

Ø Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and expansion of Georgetown's presence and impact in the Asian region.

Ø S/he will work to increase Georgetown's visibility and reputation in Asia by strategically leveraging existing resources and networks.

Ø Will work with the Office of Advancement on donor relations.

Event Management

Ø Organize and facilitate events, workshops, and meetings to engage stakeholders and promote Georgetown's initiatives and offerings in Asia.

Ø S/he will be responsible for the virtual/on-ground execution and success of all region-related events by overseeing logistical management, including scheduling, room reservations, issuing invitations and follow ups, and arranging travel.

Ø Manage budgets, resources, and timelines associated with programs and engagement activities in Asia while maintaining compliance with university policies.

Ø The SPM serves as a frontline GU representative for region events and host at all related convenings.

Community Outreach & Engagement

Ø Collaborate with other regional managers and counterparts within the University's global engagement network to share best practices, resources, and lessons learned.

Ø Stay abreast of cultural nuances and regional dynamics across various Asian countries to tailor engagement approaches and strategies effectively.

Ø S/he drafts and/or edits event announcements, web materials, social media posts, and other Initiative communications outreach, and assists with other publications and marketing efforts as needed.

About the Position

As a member of the Asia Pacific (APAC) Sales team, the Senior Energy Market Analyst will be responsible for engaging directly with both potential and existing clients to increase sales and ensure existing clients are well serviced. The Senior member of the team will also lead and manage software implementation projects and oversee more junior members of the team.

The Senior Energy Market Analyst will work closely with the Vice President and Head of Solutions, Sales and Business Development Executives to achieve common goals. Success will be measured based upon the successful completion of implementation projects and meeting technical requirements when performing sales. This role works in close collaboration with a team of technical subject matter experts and software developers. Leadership and strong communication skills are required to guide more junior members of the team.

Key Stakeholder Relationships

This position works closely and collaboratively with all Energy Exemplar staff but in particular:

• You will present and demonstrate Energy Exemplar’s products to key individuals from companies including but not limited to senior managers and executives.

• You will interact directly with potential clients and comppaborate to build concept models, provide training and advise on modelling techniques.

Qualifications:

Purpose:

To help to drive and support the development of a strategic product portfolio across all brands and categories for the Asia Pacific region using valid NPD research and market analysis. To identify underserved consumer segments and brand and market opportunities supporting the company’s overall goals and growth. Work to reduce complexity and volume of sku’s across the region in order to work more efficiently, planning throughout from the lifecycle to execution.

Main Responsibilities:

Product Portfolio

- Identify a number of potential regional products that can be introduced under the Kenwood brand to regain share within the Food Preparation and Cooking segment; responsible throughout the product lifecycle.

- Analyse market opportunities, gain in-depth understanding of consumer needs and identify business potential, product gaps and drive growth.

- Support the Head of Product Marketing with NPD strategy, streamlining and maintaining the product portfolio for the Asia Pacific region across all brands and categories.

- Follow up and resolve any issues of production, importation and quality.

- Manage product samples.

Coordinate the New Product Launches

- With the Head of Product Marketing, build a rolling 3 year roadmap of product launches across the region.

- Work with HQ NPD teams (De’Longhi, Kenwood, Braun and NutriBullet) on new launches, understanding consumer benefits, specifications, timeline and sku selection.

- Prepare the business cases to support regional NPD investments and negotiate with APA purchasing team / suppliers.

- Co-ordinate new product launches across multiple markets; pack application/sku identification/P coding/reworking, specification check, certification process, samples, order process and so on.

- Help to execute the marketing program by clearly defining the key features and USP’s.

- Support the Marketing and Commercial teams to highlight product positioning.

Manage the Product Phase out

Job Description:

We are seeking qualified B737NG, B777, B744, B787 flight simulator instructors for instructing positions in Singapore. This contract allows instructors the satisfaction of passing on their wealth of knowledge and experience while enjoying a competitive remuneration package. Instructors will provide recurrent training, initial ratings and upgrades to new aircraft types. The training centre is located in Singapore.

Job Requirements:

· Flight Simulator instructing experience

· Airline experience on required aircraft type

· Instructed or operated as Captain within 3 years

· ATPL and Rating (endorsement) for applicable type from an ICAO signatory country.

· Must have flown an airplane in airline service or operated as a Commercial Airline Simulator Instructor within the past 2 years.

· 5 years Air Carrier experience (scheduled carrier).

· 3 years Instructional experience on jet transport category aircraft with experience as simulator instructor.

· Pilot In Command consisting of 2000 hours in a jet transport category aircraft with at least 1000 hours as PIC on type or at least 1 year experience as a Simulator Instructor on type.

· Completed an ICAO airline recognized CRM initial training course.

· Capable of air travel and physically able to conduct Simulator instruction.
