Professional Energy Purchasing
Professional Energy Purchasing is a Sheffield based independent Energy Procurement & Management specialist with over 30 years of experience in the energy market.
What does this mean? Essentially, they help businesses make buying energy easy, saving the companies they work with thousands of pounds in energy costs by leveraging the best prices for gas, electricity, and water.
They also work with business to provide independent energy audits to identify potential savings through alternative renewable energy solutions and provide energy funding advice, successfully recouping over £100,000 in refunds for customers that have overpaid CCL (climate change levy) tax on their energy contracts.
Energy prices are constantly changing, and the team carefully identifies and quantifies potential areas of savings, advising customers when and how to purchase energy to gain the right price at the right time. PEP have the customer at the heart of their business.
The opportunity
They're now looking to expand their team with a Business Development Manager to join the current PEP team of <10, on a permanent basis to ensure that they can support more businesses on their journeys to Net Zero and become more sustainable.
The ideal start date for this role is mid to late November 2023 and you'll be working closely with their current Sales Manager, Kayleigh Thompson.
This is a new role.
Ideal candidate
A full induction and training programme will be provided for this role, including job shadowing the energy management team on audits and head office processes. The ideal candidate will however:
have previous experience working within the energy management industry as we're looking for existing knowledge rather than inducting someone from the start
have experience of building a pipeline, driving growth
be keen (and enjoy) networking within the Yorkshire and Derbyshire area to expand our market presence
be adept at managing relationships of existing and prospective clients, as the role grows the balance of this will swing more to account management
What would I be doing day to day?
Location wise for this role, we're open to this being mainly a remote role, with Wednesdays being a day in the office at Thorncliffe Park, just off the M1 at J35a. Ideally you'd be local to the area to facilitate networking BUT what's more important is finding the right person to join our team, so if you're happy to travel for networking and commute in on a Weds, you should still apply!
A typical week will involve the usual activities of a BDM and in the interview process we'll be keen to hear all about the daily, weekly, monthly rituals you use to currently achieve success!
