Volunteer Support Assistant

and emergency equipment loans, we ensure children get the vital equipment they need, when they need it, while our free nurse
helpline offers crucial support and information – as well as a listening ear. Our campaigns help to give disabled children and
their families a voice, even being instrumental in changing laws to benefit the families we serve. And we support adults with
additional needs with volunteering and employment opportunities, providing a means for career development.

The Opportunity:

Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the many different activities that take place across the organisation, Newlife has a
lot to offer volunteers including social interaction, a chance to develop new skills that could aid employment and the opportunity
to make a real difference, changing the lives of disabled children and their families.

The role of Volunteer Support Assistant will involve assisting with the production of goods to go out to stores, dispatching goods
bought through online platforms, listing products online for sale and supporting the team with other ad hoc tasks.

* Make volunteers feel welcome
* Build rapport, support and answer volunteer questions, ensuring they understand what is being asked of them.

* Facilitating volunteer activity within the centre and across the wider Volunteer Team

* Helping volunteers prepare stock for sale.
* Support volunteers in building relationships with each other
* Train volunteers on de-labelling products, setting standards..
* Ensure stock is de-labelled by volunteers in-line with company guidelines.
* Act as quality control, reviewing stock that is de-labelled and making sure it is in-line with company guidelines.
* Observe that the right stock is provided to the right volunteer, dependent on their abilities.
* Assist the stock control into and out of the centre.
* Prepare stock for volunteers at the start of the day.
* Tidy and clean the centre at the end of each of day.
* Working with the volunteer team to accept deliveries and request collections

* Working with the volunteer team to plan and deliver volunteer events in the opportunities centre
* Working with corporate volunteers to process stock and promoting Newlife charitable aims
* Attending volunteer recruitment and engagement events

HR Assistant

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Cannock / Hybrid working

Salary: £12.85 - £13.30 per hour (depending on experience)

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the HR Operations Manager and supporting the HR management team you will be:

* Supporting Line Managers with general HR queries, welfare meetings, investigations and grievances, including note taking and
attending some site meetings.
* Compiling and analysing HR Data metrics and statistics including recruitment, labour turnover, training, employee relations
issues, absence and performance evaluations.
* Lead for internal and external audits, governance and risk management.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to review, improve and record HR processes, documents and policies.
* Supporting the end-to-end recruitment process using the Applicant Tracking System including onboarding of new starters to
ensure the best possible experience
* Processing starters, contract changes and leavers through our HR Information System.
* Supporting the implementation of an e-learning platform across the business and coordinate training sessions and courses.
* Assisting with a variety of HR projects




What we are looking for:

You will have a minimum of 2 years working in a Human Resources Department and ideally hold a CIPD level 5 qualification (CPP) –
we are looking for someone who has experience of supporting Line Managers with HR queries and meetings including note taking.




The ideal candidate will have experience of producing and analysing HR data metrics for Line Managers and the Senior Leadership
Team. They will have a good knowledge of HR practice and process, excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with
the ability to manage time and prioritise effectively. An effective communicator with excellent verbal and written communication
skills, you will be a strong team player with an excellent can-do attitude.




You will be highly proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 with a good working knowledge of HR Information Systems and databases.

The Deputy Store Manager role in Newlife is unique, it allows you to create the extraordinary, by driving sales in your store to,
in turn generate money to support Disabled Children and their families. No two days are the same and due to the nature of the
business, the product type can quickly change so you have to be a fast thinker and swift on your feet to change the layout and
merchandising to drive sales.

What we are looking for:



You must be commercially minded; people orientated and deliver operational excellence, putting the customer at the centre of
everything.



You will need to have previous retail management experience and be able to work alongside and operate effectively with the Store
Manager and store team. You will maximise retail sales and profit through the effective day to day management of a sales team that
will be made up of both paid employees and volunteers, live and breathe KPI’s, use your creative skills and imagination to
merchandise the product to a high standard, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service.



You will also need to be flexible in your approach to work to cover additional hours where required and be willing to cover at
other Newlife stores on occasion to meet needs of the business.

This is a crucial and important new role within the Communications and Marketing Team at Newlife. In this pivotal role, you will
oversee the communication and marketing team, collaborate with senior leadership, and engage with key stakeholders, external
agencies and suppliers to drive greater public knowledge of the charity leading to deeper levels of engagement, greater action and
a significant increase in income.

You will be motivated to look at new ways of working, new ways of delivering effective and innovative marketing campaigns and
maximising impact. Additionally, you will have the knowledge, vision and expertise to develop both the function and the team,
leading by example and bringing colleagues along on the journey.

This is an exciting time to join our charity as we begin implementing our new strategy to support more disabled children and their
families.

Newlife is a national disability charity, supporting children and families across the UK.

Founded over 30 years ago, Newlife is now the largest charitable provider of specialist equipment and is the only charity
providing an emergency loan service to children and families who simply can’t wait. As well as providing specialist equipment we
campaign for better rights for disabled children and their families and offer support and information through our dedicated
Nurse-run Helpline.

Newlife is creating a five-year strategic plan aimed at expanding our services and increasing our income. This growth will enable
us to provide greater support to more disabled and terminally ill children and their families across the UK.

The Opportunity:

As a key member of the IT Service Desk, you will be the first point of contact for all IT support related issues. This role is a
crucial part of a larger IT Department that covers Operations, Project Management, Infrastructure, and Development.



The role requires a good working knowledge of Windows operating systems, servers, cloud-based infrastructure, and TCP/IP
networking. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a busy helpdesk environment, adhering to SLAs and providing excellent
customer service to Newlife's diverse teams.



Key responsibilities include:



* Answering telephone calls in a professional, confident, and timely manner
* Completing online ticket requests with a high level of diligence
* Responding to user requests, providing assistance, and offering training where appropriate
* Performing troubleshooting and fault diagnostics
* Performing IT system administration tasks
* Mobile Phone/Laptop setup and allocation
* Developing technical and personal skills through training and self-study





What we are looking for:



* IT Certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, HP) or related experience
* Friendly and professional communication skills across all correspondence with end users
* Minimum of 1 year in an IT support role
* Experience of working to deadlines/SLAs in a technical helpdesk environment
* Experience in delivering a high level of customer service
* Technical experience working with IT infrastructure; servers, mobile devices, networking equipment, etc.
* Experience in delivering support to retail teams (Epos knowledge is highly desirable)
* Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, MS Office 365, MS Exchange Server 2019
