The Financial Consolidation and Reporting Accountant will be based within the Group Finance team; currently a team of 8 based in the Group’s global HQ in Birmingham city centre. The team work very closely with other Group functions including FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Group Finance team and responsible for consolidated financial reporting. They will be supporting the monthly consolidation process to enable accurate and timely reporting to the Board. They will assist with the preparation of the Group’s annual and interim financial statements and will liaise with divisional finance teams to ensure a smooth month-end process.

What you'll do...
- Support the consolidation of over 100 trading entities and preparation of monthly management accounts
- Review of inter-company reconciliation and elimination of group balances, and co-ordinating with relevant teams to clear intercompany mismatches during the month end close process
- Key point of contact for queries and requests related to the group’s consolidation system
- Administration of the group’s consolidation system - making amendments to load mappings, metadata, rules, forms reports, and security
- Perform analytical reviews and validation work
- Assist with half yearly reporting - preparation of consolidated financial statements
- Play a key role in the annual audit process and the production of annual statutory accounts
- Responsibility of a small number of subsidiary statutory entities
- Quarterly review of fixed assets across the Group
- Review IFRS 16 lease reporting and administration of the system
- Ad-hoc analysis of financial data in the system
- Assist with ad-hoc projects e.g. supporting divisions on technical accounting matters

What you'll need...
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA ) with experience of working in a large organisation.
- Experience with consolidation systems (OneStream or similar) is ideal
- Experience of consolidation/ working in a multi entity environment (either in industry or as clients)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professionalism - group accountants deal with key business stakeholders
- Deadline driven - working to strict monthly reporting, budget and forecast deadlines
- Good at Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with IFRS
