An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Court of Protection Practitioner to join the Safeguarding Team.

To lead on Court of Protection (COP) cases to ensure ICB compliance with The Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Court of Protection (CoP) for a specified cohort of service users.

To support the development and delivery of the service preparing for the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS)

Manage CoPDoL applications and MCA matters with equity and consistency.

Ensure knowledge and practice is up to date with current case law and legislation changes to inform best practice and deliver up to date and relevant leadership and advice.

Respond to priority matters within short timescales whilst delivering the same quality and equitable service.

To maintain regular 1-1 meetings with line manager and participate in development programmes within ICB.

The role is part of a wider Urgent and Emergency Care team that covers strategic planning and delivery across place and system levels. This role will contribute to the delivery of the team’s functions, which include:


• Development and delivery of a new urgent and emergency care strategy and oversee associated delivery plans.
• Coordinate, assure and monitor resilience and surge plans at place and for the system, and oversee effective management of funding relating to these.

This also includes the data collection of all care packages, working closely with other functions within the ICB and external stakeholders to achieve economies of scale of across contracts and commissioned packages of care.

Review and manage a number of projects within the Children, Young People and Maternityportfolios , working with Programme Managers, Work Stream and clinical Leads to develop project and action plans to achieve the objectives stated.
