- Lead teams for some of our group entities (trading agri commodities and processing/ manufacturing in nature) for their full spectrum of accounting and financial control function. Major responsibilities will include:
- supervising maintenance of correct and on time full set accounts
- timely and accurate preparation of financial, management and Group reporting including budgeting
- preparing for statutory and internal audits and ensuring no lapses
- statutory compliances in areas of direct and indirect taxation (review of tax filings and queries) and transfer pricing (including its documentation)
- Monitoring and approval of payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- developing and implementing strong internal controls and effective SOPs
- ensuring adherence to various accounting, reporting and legal frameworks including compliance with IFRS and Group policies
- ad-hoc special projects including activities relating to business expansion, commercial feasibility studies, capex investment budgeting & returns analysis, working capital efficiency analysis including inventory and receivables
- monitoring, and availing of various tax incentives and grants
- Responsibilities other than accounts shall include designated activities (in coordination with Treasury team) in connection with:
- banking, cash-flow projection & consolidation, forex exposures and financing initiatives etc for overseas subsidiaries
- Other Responsibilities may consist of:
- supporting Senior Management in various operational analysis for decision making
- interacting with operations and risk teams for various trade related activities
- lead information system changes to improve efficiency
Job Requirements:
- Good leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- ACCA / CA/ CPA and a good accounting degree
- Minimum 10 to 12 years of relevant experience with 3 to 5 years in trading/ commodities processing industry
- Conversant in accounting standards such as IFRS and company law
- Exposure and practical knowledge of transfer pricing regulations especially for cross border supply chain activities
- Detail oriented, hands-on personality capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with some interphase of different time zones in which our subsidiaries may be operating
- Proactive with strong reasoning skills and ability to deliver independently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical & critical thinking skills with ability to add value to operations
- Preference to candidates with:
- working experience in large audit firms
- exposure to SAP / Microsoft Navision systems
- the knowledge of Chinese local accounting systems, China mainland manufacturing operations of any FMCG industry, taxation and compliances is an advantage as 1-2 group companies are incorporated in the People's Republic of China
- Ability to read and write in Chinese language is an advantage as 1-2 group companies are incorporated in the People's Republic of China
- basic understanding of foreign exchange exposure, hedging and accounting
- hands on experience of financial modelling including computing ROI, ROIC, IRR, Payback etc
- exposure to commercial and operational activities
