A strategic Business Development Manager with Test & Measurement experience ideally across the Aerospace sector is wanted by an established and growing group, covering the UK & allowing you to be based from home. You will be working across & selling into a range of blue-chip clients and organisations, with a focus on the Military, Defence, Space and Aerospace sectors, providing them with a range of Hi-Reliability, Hi-Resistance components & power supply products. You will be identifying and expanding on new opportunities and existing accounts across various markets such as the military, aerospace, space, industrial, finance, broadcast, power, transport, and telecoms sectors.
Reporting to the Sales Director, the position will work closely with the internal sales team to drive the overall Company Business strategy within your region. This role will develop and execute sales business plans and strategies to maximise revenue growth, increase market share, and position the company as a strategic supplier at key customers within the region. The role requires identification, development and conversion of new sales leads, the professional presentation of the company’s range of Volts and Amps power supply products, high reliability components along with the complete group portfolio to new and existing clients and developing and maintaining solid relationship with prospective new contacts and existing clients.
Role Overview
Technical Owner of direct activities within and across your client base.
Position will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle from lead generation, qualifying business opportunities, creating & delivering sales presentations. Creating sales proposals, negotiating, and closing the deal.
Develop customer relationships for long term success/repeat business.
Account Manage all customer requirements & order books in liaison with Internal support function.
Lead pro-active sales effort through identifying opportunities to grow business with new & existing clients.
Collaborate with other Sales Divisions for referrals/leads.
Liaise with Marketing Dept to plan & orchestrate sales campaigns/follow up.
Development & achievement of agreed sales budget / targets
Liaise & assist purchasing / sourcing function where necessary.
Experience & Skills Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Experience of business development selling power supply equipment and High reliability components.
Strong strategic sales approach selling ideally across various markets including military, defence, space, OEM’s or similar markets.
Exposure and experience of delivering open days, events with clients and prospective customers.
Excellent client liaison & negotiation skills.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Contract negotiation both verbally and written.
Self-motivated, persistent & ability to work independently or part of a team.
Ability to work on own initiative to problem solve & make decisions.
Hungry to succeed in winning new business.
Excellent relationship builder.
Totally sales focused & productive.
Ability to identify and sell a wider group delivery and support to clients.
Proficient in using MS Office packages.
Good understanding of CRM systems.
Good understanding of electronic components and distribution.
Experience managing a large territory.
Must be willing and able to travel extensively within your patch and also when required across the UK and internationally.
Experience or the ability to manage teams would be advantageous for future succession plans.

Salary :- c£80k+ Realistic OTE, Car Allowance, 9% pension, 25 days hols + bank holidays, Fitness Benefit, Self-choice volunteering days.
