We are looking for a highly experienced Business Development Manager with a deep understanding of power systems and extensive experience working with consultants and end-users to influence project tenders. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints, and possess solid knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems. This role requires significant expertise in power products, such as UPS systems, medium and low voltage switchgear, low voltage components, and voltage conditioners. You will play a key role in driving business development activities, pre-sales efforts, and ensuring the inclusion of our power systems in large-scale project tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the power systems market, focusing on UPS systems, switchgear, and related electrical products.
- Work closely with consultants, contractors, and end-users to position the company's products in project tenders, ensuring the inclusion of our solutions in specifications.
- Read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints to provide insights and technical solutions that align with project requirements.
- Leverage your technical knowledge of power products such as UPS systems, medium and low voltage switchgear, and voltage conditioners to provide tailored solutions for customers.
- Manage pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, product demonstrations, and responding to technical inquiries from consultants and end-users.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and end-users, to influence project specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, technical, and sales teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions to customers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains competitive in the market.
- Prepare technical proposals and support the tendering process by ensuring that product specifications meet customer and project requirements.
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with site installation teams to ensure that technical specifications and installation requirements are met.
- Report on business development activities, sales progress, and market insights to senior management.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or other relevant technical disciplines with 6-8 years of relevant experience; or Diploma in Electrical or Electrical Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles within the power systems or electrical engineering sectors, with a strong focus on UPS systems and related electrical products.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints and provide technical insights for project development.
- Solid understanding of basic electrical and electronic control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of power products, such as UPS systems, medium and low voltage switchgear, low voltage components, and voltage conditioners.
- Experience in working on site installation projects, with knowledge of installation requirements and best practices.
- Strong connections and relationships with consultants, contractors, and end-users in the power systems industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence project decisions and manage long-term client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in preparing technical proposals, budgets, and tender documents.
- Ability to travel as required for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
