Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. The home, although purpose-built, has been made very homely, and has a selection of garden areas, in line with Jasmine’s values and ethos. The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Day to Day Responsibilities for Senior Care Assistant:

• As a Senior Care Assistant, you will provide the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting our residents in all aspects of daily living.
• You will also be responsible for promoting our resident’s independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and to give input during shift handovers.
• In this role you will be responsible for leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
• You will complete the daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues being picked up on the medication audits, as well as ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts you will be responsible for leading.
• To will promote good practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practise from other team member. ensure one to ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

Essential Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:

• Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in residential / nursing home setting.
• Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
• To ensure knowledge is gained to demonstrate a good understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
• Live within 30 minutes of the Home.

Preferred Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:

• Two years’ experience in a similar role in a nursing home.
• At least One years’ experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or

• Working alongside our Home Manager, you will achieve Jasmine’s mission in our home, by ensuring all our residents are provided with the highest standards of care, and doing everything you can to develop, motivate, and improve the wellbeing of your team.

• You will ensure care plans for our residential residents are completed within the timescales require by the company policy and ensure that all care plans are evaluated at least once a calendar month.

• You will ensure all our team members are fully competent with medication, ensuring weekly audits are completed and medication is requested in plenty of time. Medication handling must be always carried out correctly, including ensuring all old medication is returned to the pharmacy each month and it is booked in on a timely basis.

Essential Requirements for Deputy Manager - Care

South Moor Lodge is located in the idyllic village of Walkeringham (5 miles to the West of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds, and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents.

A little about Nightingale

Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. The home, although purpose-built, has been made very homely, and has a selection of garden areas, in line with Jasmine’s values and ethos. The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents.

Competencies for Maintenance Person

· Ability to work to tight deadlines

· Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands, and prioritise tasks

· Ability to organise own time and workload

· Ability to methodically complete checklists of work and maintenance checks

• Self-motivated

Day to Day Responsibilities for Maintenance Person

• You will join our brilliant Maintenance Team and carry out the day-to-day maintenance of the Home and its services and grounds/gardens, to ensure that it is safe and desirable place for our residents to live and team members to work in.

• This will involve a combination of completing regular maintenance checks, day to day maintenance tasks, completing more superficial refurbishment projects (e.g. bedrooms & living spaces) autonomously, and periodically assisting the Maintenance & Refurbishment Support Manager with more involved refurbishment projects (e.g. ensuites, bathrooms, laundry rooms etc.)

• You will be responsible to ensure the action plans of all the annual Bedroom & Communal maintenance audits are completed by the Compliance Support Manager are signed off within 3 months and rooms scores are in line with the latest quarterly targets.

• Ensure available rooms are decorated and turned around within 3 days of being vacant and ensure the exterior of our care home is always presentable and homely.

Essential Requirements for Maintenance Person

· A good reason or experience that has drawn you to working in a care setting.

· General maintenance knowledge / experience (e.g. minor electrical, decorating, plumbing, joinery work etc.)

· Within six months of employment all job role holder should be able to competently complete all the tasks on the competency checklist later in this job description

· Clean driving licence and use of a car or similar vehicle

· Live within 20 minutes of the Home.

Preferred Requirements for Maintenance Person

· One years’ experience in a similar role.

· Modest IT skills, including ability to email, print documents, scan documents, save documents with appropriate file names and fill in basic excel spreadsheets. Training can be provided for this if necessary

· Ability to set up a computer and ensure that is networked and the internet is working. Training can be provided for this if necessary

· Hold a relevant level 2 or 3 qualification (or willing to work towards this).

· Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
