WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Serve as the client relation leader for key clients and manage client portfolios
• Regional planning and local market implementation - culture decoding of local consumer insights, creative ideation and activations, providing guidance and quality control for execution excellence to SEA market specialists

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an Associate to join our dynamic team in Singapore. This role will serve as integral support across multiple account teams covering Singapore and Thailand market. In this role, you will learn from our marketing communication specialists, digital experts on modern digital marketing and how PR is at the heart of our clients’ brand socialisation and businesses. You will also be involved in the agency’s innovations and marketing initiatives, such as the Gen Z/ Consumer Incubator and social media storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of innovative digital communications strategies and public relation plans for clients, including:

About the Role:

The Interim Managing Director, role represents a senior leadership position in our local market operation. They are responsible for representing our organization internally and externally at the highest level and manage and inspire a team of diverse professionals that produces brilliant creative work for our clients. Business Planning & Strategy

• Develop business plan that sets long-term strategic direction, vision and priorities for business unit, in line with global and regional business plans
• Drive continued evolution towards a Global Creative Agency and implement global transformation/restructure
• Determine overall shape of business to deliver on business plan, and associated talent/skill gaps & requirements
• Prepare financial forecasts and periodic updates in line with IPG reporting schedules

Business Operations & Management

• Manage budget/P&L on an on-going basis, including revenue, OPEX and staff expenses
• Drive financial profitability and efficiencies, and corresponding procedures to ensure financial compliance
• Identify and improve efficiencies in overall agency workflows (work output, financial, new business, etc.)
• Ensure operational compliance with local & internal IPG policies, regulations & legislature

Work Product & Output

• Oversee delivery of all client deliverables to expected quality standards
• Manage evolution of products, tools and service offerings in line with changing needs of the industry and client requirements in collaboration with global colleagues.

New Busines and PR

• Develop and oversee implementation of local new business and go-to-market strategy
• Foster industry relationships and proactively unearth new business opportunities
• Oversee execution of local pitch opportunities
• Articulate an Octagon brand story based on global direction
• In collaboration with the regional Mgt Team, develop and implement a marketing plan to raise Octagon’s presence in market

Collaboration

• Serve as point person for local business units to drive local efficiencies and collaboration opportunities
• Develop relationships with peers at local and regional IPG agencies to explore joint open architecture opportunities
• Work with global Octagon teams as required to drive work output and/or local implementation of global policies

Team & Talent Management

• Translate costs to a sell price with appropriate detail to be communicated to the client

• Ensure account team members adhere to agency time reporting and financial guidelines
• Participate in systems improvement

Administrative Support

• Negotiate fees with clients/prospective clients
• Manage the time spent by each team member to ensure the team is on budget
• Create accurate budget estimates for client for long-term and short-term programs
• Monitor group budgeting and revisions in a timely manner
• Track/enter time in a precise and timely manner
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned

PERSON PROFILE

• Scientific/Medical/Health-related bachelor’s degree or higher; 10+ years related professional experience, comfortable with the scientific nature of our work.
• Ability to successfully present program recommendations, and establish relationships with senior clients as a trusted advisor
• Possesses superb execution and management skills: specifically, the ability to allocate resources effectively, structure teams and deliver programs with excellence.
• Has experienced in managing and grooming junior staff, advising senior clients and being responsible for delivery of programs on time, and on budget with superior results
• Has a deep background and proven ability to create and manage large events and communications projects

About the opportunity:

The Weber Shandwick Office is currently seeking a manager for its healthcare practice.

Job Summary:

• Developing and implementing integrated communications strategies tailored to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia (Singapore market understanding is critical)
• A strong understanding of the local media landscape (traditional and new), cultural nuances, and communication trends
• Experience managing integrated campaigns and consumer-led campaigns in wellness, healthcare, pharma, and consumer wearables. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Agency work experience in Singapore market will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

• Develop culturally relevant content, including articles and social media posts, aligned with the target audience.
• Collaborate with local influencers, experts, and content creators within healthcare and pharmaceutical guidelines and regulations.
• Gather intelligence, insights, local trends, news, and events for timely and relevant content for media campaigns.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
• Storytelling support includes media engagement and the development of news hooks and newsjacking opportunities.
• Coordinate and execute public relations activities, events, and media partnerships within the local market.
• Work closely with local industry associations, chambers, and marketing teams to gather insights, events, partnerships, and possibilities.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital media trends and insights in healthcare and pharmaceutical industries
• Oversight of accounting and financial operations

Education:

A bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree in science or business is preferred.

Professional Skills and Experience:

• 4 to 5 years of relevant job experience, including team management, interdisciplinary team involvement, marketing, and/or communications, is required.
• Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and strong presentation skills are required.
