About the Job

As a Business Developer, you will be an informal leader of a 3-member micro-team. With a Production Engineer, who takes cares of the production process and quality, and a Supply Planner who handles logistics. Based on the analysis, you will draw up an action plan once a year to reduce production costs and to develop better design for the customers, all within the framework of sustainability and ethical business practices.

You also can expect to:

• Develop partnerships with suppliers – The micro team travels regularly, in order to solve production issues and to provide suppliers with feedback and help with the implementation of the action plan.
• Create production calculations – Look for cost saving opportunities for both existing and new products.
• Operation – Communicate with suppliers, the management in team meetings regarding project implementation and data entry.
• Supplier transition – You will be expected to lead supplier transitioning from different countries with a newly established optimized set-up and governing a smooth transition.

In this role you will:

• Secure functionality of the logistics automation systems on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for the mechanical/electrical performance and troubleshooting of the automated equipment’s in the unit.
• Coordinate work of suppliers and supervise the assigned maintenance activities, repair, shut downs etc.
• Provides support during the introduction of new equipment and modifications of existing ones from the development of specifications, cooperations with suppliers and final installation.
• Acting as a key escalation point and being the focal point for automation related topics.

About the Job

You will work in a small, 3-member micro-team with a Business Developer who negotiates prices and take care of the overall commercial relation with the supplier and a Supply Planner who handles logistics. As part of the annual action plan, you will be responsible for the constant improvement of the quality of IKEA products as well as the production process and workflow through tools such as 5S, Lean, and machine capacity utilization.
