Position Title: Gardener
Location: Flourish Plants
Salary: $73,150 per annum
Flourish Plants is seeking a Gardener to undertake a broad range of physically intensive and detailed tasks essential for maintaining our nursery. This role is responsible for hands-on plant care, nursery maintenance, and order fulfilment, with strict attention to all protocols and company standards. Reporting to the Head Grower, this role demands a highly dedicated individual ready to tackle each of the following responsibilities daily:
Responsibilities:
Plant Care & Maintenance
• Perform daily watering, weeding, thinning, and pruning to promote plant health.
• Prepare sites, plots, and soils as needed and participate in pest control and fertilisation programs.
• Assist with chemical spraying and other treatments essential to plant care.
Order Processing & Dispatch
• Detail, label, pack, and fill plant orders for accurate and timely dispatch to meet customer deadlines.
• Ensure only healthy plants are picked, with correct barcodes placed on each order and positioned in designated trays.
• Handle picking lists accurately and ensure they are completed and submitted promptly.
Equipment Handling & Manual Labor
• Regularly lift, load, and unload supplies and equipment, including stacking trays for the delivery driver.
• Operate quad bikes and other machinery as required, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Set up irrigation systems, adjust shade and ventilation, and build fences or structures as requested.
General Housekeeping
• Maintain a clean worksite and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored at the end of each day.
• Comply with all company policies, including taking breaks within designated times and completing paperwork accurately.
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
• Consistently uphold the highest safety standards, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all WHS policies.
• Report all accidents and hazards immediately, remove hazards from work areas, and rectify faults when possible.
• Only operate equipment you are trained to use, following all manufacturer instructions.
Professional Conduct
• Represent Flourish Plants in a professional manner, maintaining a friendly and approachable attitude.
• Respect all property and equipment and engage in any required meetings or training sessions.
Requirements
• High physical fitness, with the ability to lift, bend, stretch, and stand for prolonged periods in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all company policies and safety protocols.
