Investment Services Private Markets
We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.
Investment Finance & Controllers (“IF&C”)
The Investment Finance & Controllers Team is responsible for deal finance advisory including buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence, portfolio control, treasury and cash management, valuations, investment operations, investment and portfolio accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s private investments.
We are looking for a suitable Assistant Vice President to join our Controllers team.
What impact can you make in this role?
You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support private markets investment.
We are seeking an Assistant Vice President to focus on investment operations. This role involves interactions within IF&C, identifying continuous improvements to our processes, streamlining complexities in our operating model , and ensuring the seamless integration of these solutions into our investment operations. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support finance operations throughout the investment’s life cycle.
What will you do as an Assistant Vice President?
- Review deal activities throughout the investment life cycle, such as setting up investment structures, bank accounts, provision of KYC documents, funding process for investment funding (capital calls, loan drawdowns, etc)
- Review system set up of new deals and ongoing maintenance, etc
- Review ongoing investment activities such as receipts from fund distributions, repayment and interest from private loans, etc
- Drive month-end / year-end closing activities
- Accountable as a process owner for selected processes
- Assist with internal / external audits when required
- Proactively identify areas for streamlining, automation or outsourcing to enable operations to scale
- Participate and drive workstreams independently to support business process simplification and efficiency initiatives
- Respond to information needs of management and internal/external stakeholders
- Provide coaching to new and junior team members
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Bachelor in Accounting, Finance or relevant disciplines
- At least 4 years relevant accounting work experience in the finance, accounting or private markets industry (not limited to private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure)
- Self-starter who is detail oriented, very organized and pro-active in executing responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong risk attitude
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage and complete multiple priorities on time with minimal direction
- Displays behaviours of self-reliance
- Displays high intellectual curiosity and innovative mindset
- Focuses on delivery excellence and accountability
- Able to work independently to meet deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
