Internal Audit Department (IAD)

We and governance and control specialists who provide an independent assessment of GIC’s governance, risk management and internal control environment to the Board of Directors, audit committee, and senior management.

We are seeking potential talents to join our Internal Audit Department (IAD) as AVP/VP, IT Audit. This role is responsible for executing Technology reviews under GIC’s IAD. This is part of the IT audit team responsible for Assurance, Advisory and Anticipatory monitoring activities covering all technology domains. This role will also support initiatives to continuously improve on IAD’s methodology and practices.

What will you do as an IT Auditor?

• Plan and execute audits of technology infrastructure, applications and IT processes

• Identify deficiencies and provide practical recommendations to remediate and address identified risks

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or its equivalent from a reputable education institute, with professional certification in security and controls such as CISA, CISSP, CISM
• Possess at least 10 years of IT audit or IT risk management work experience, preferably with internal audit experience in the Banking and Finance Industry. Those with substantial security experience in cloud, infrastructure (e.g. network/system/database) and cybersecurity will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of data analytics and visualization tools
• Experienced in managing and executing fieldwork, issue writing and reporting
• Experienced in reviewing technology domains across infrastructure, applications, cyber security, cloud technology, governance processes and horizontal IT processes

Finance Department

Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We support the GIC Group in Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Governance, Financial Reporting, Accounting Operations, and Treasury & Cash Management. We are a strategic partner to the departments in GIC and supports their operations, growth and competitiveness through our financial expertise and data-driven insights. We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Global Accounting Operations team with the Finance Department. The candidate’s responsibilities will include accounting operations and financial reporting as well as leading the transformational effort across the function to improve efficiency, effectiveness and strategic alignment.

What will you do as a VP in the Global Accounting Operations team?

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

• Accountable for accounting operations and month-end closing activities that involves (but not limited to) the preparation of journal entries, accounts reconciliation, cashflow management & forecast, intercompany settlement, etc.
• Preparation of reporting packages and analysis of accounting schedules in accordance with relevant statutory requirement, including trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss statements and accounting schedules.

Finance Transformation

• Working with Finance Leaders to develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for the finance transformation and aligning it with organizational priorities.
• Identifying and optimizing finance processes and systems to streamline operations and enhance productivity whilst embedding adequate controls from a risk management consideration.
• Assessing, selecting, and implementing advanced financial technologies to modernize, improve finance operations and automate manual tasks.
• Digitizing opportunities include automated expenses management, enhancement of queries management, data integration and connectivity and development of online training and user-friendly materials.
• Building a culture of innovation and exploring new ideas and approaches to continuously improve finance operations.

Change Management & Stakeholder Management

• Leading and managing the change required for the function, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and technologies by engaging and training the team and business users.
• Collaborating with cross functional teams, including Technology Group, Human Resource, Risk Management Group, to ensure that finance transformation initiatives align with broader organization goals.
• Developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success and impact of the finance transformation initiatives.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with at least 12 years of relevant experience in corporate accounting function and leading finance transformation initiatives.
• Experience in process reengineering and change management.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor transformation initiatives.

As an AI Product Manager at GIC, you will play a pivotal role in refining and executing GIC’s AI strategy. You will work closely with leadership to oversee the development and deployment of Generative AI (GenAI) and Machine Learning products and platforms, ensuring they align with our business goals and needs to drive significant business impact and improve investment decision making. Real Estate
We were an early entrant among institutional investors in real estate including traditional private real estate (brick-and-mortar assets), public equities, real estate investment trusts, and real estate-related debt instruments.

Business Management & Operations

The Business Management & Operations team plays a vital role to provide business management and transaction execution support to Real Estate Investment Professionals globally. The Investment Finance & Controllers Team is responsible for deal finance advisory including buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence, portfolio control, treasury and cash management, valuations, investment operations, investment and portfolio accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s private investments.

What will you do as an Assistant Vice President?

• Review deal activities throughout the investment life cycle, such as setting up investment structures, bank accounts, provision of KYC documents, funding process for investment funding (capital calls, loan drawdowns, etc)
• Review system set up of new deals and ongoing maintenance, etc

Investment Services Private Markets

We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

Finance & Accounting

You will help to provide financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding, valuation management, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that provides investment services on private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and cross-strategy investments.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Finance & Accounting team as an Associate (2-year contract).

What will you do as an Associate?

• Processing daily transactions and funding requirements, updating relevant data and transactions in the accounting and management system
• Preparation of market values using external financial information for the fund and direct investments
• Preparing accounting reconciliations, review of investment holding company accounts and liaison with external auditors
• Corporate secretarial work relating to investment holding companies

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Bachelor in Accounting, Finance or relevant disciplines
• At least 2 years relevant accounting work experience in the finance, accounting or private equity industry
• Committed and motivated individuals who are meticulous, and enjoys working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have practical working experience with accounting software systems

Real Estate
We were an early entrant among institutional investors in real estate including traditional private real estate (brick-and-mortar assets), public equities, real estate investment trusts, and real estate-related debt instruments.

Business Management & Operations

The Business Management & Operations team plays a vital role to provide business management and transaction execution support to Real Estate Investment Professionals globally. This includes developing governance structures for the Real Estate business, propagating industry best practices, improving efficiency by process design, coordinating deal execution and closings, and overseeing the process of identification and presenting data to ensure GIC Real Estate continues to retain its competitive edge.

The team also manages the Real Estate portfolio insurance program to ensure appropriate protection of downside risks.

The role will report to the Head, Real Estate Business Management & Operations.

What will you do as an Associate (Insurance) in the Real Estate Business Management & Operations team?

• Manage the renewal of the Global Insurance Program for GIC RE
• Track and ensure timely premium payment for the Global Insurance Program
• Coordinate and monitor progress of annual risk engineering surveys
• Assist and provide the investment teams with technical insurance advice
• Selectively review JV level insurance cover (as directed)
• Manage broker and insurer relationships for GIC RE
• Manage ongoing claims for GIC RE’s Global Insurance Program

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• At least 3 years of relevant insurance work experience
• University degree in related field (actuary, business – insurance etc.)
• Detail-oriented with ability to work independently
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Inquisitive self-starter, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint
