Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries in Essex, VT is seeking a first shift (M-F, 7am-330pm) Deionized / Ultrapure Water + Chemical System Maintenance and Operations Staff Technician to work in the facilities organization reporting to Dustin Nuhfer.  For this 200mm Semiconductor manufacturing facility, the equipment includes reverse osmosis, ion exchange resin, filtration, chemical supply systems, chemical blending units, and other manufacturing support systems. This position is fully on site, and requires some rotating holiday / weekend coverage. The ideal candidate will possess some demonstrated leadership / supervisory experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper system operation by performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Respond to and troubleshoot system alarms and controls. 
• Perform mechanical field work on filters, resin vessels, UV lights, pumps, valves, tanks, tubing, piping, and controls.
• Lead and coordinate improvement projects to increase safety, continuous operations, and organizational capability.
• Work in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction. 
• Provide technical leadership to operate, maintain, and enhance various types of distribution equipment utilized in the Manufacturing areas. 

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
   

Required Qualifications:

• Education – High School Diploma or equivalent. 
• Experience - Minimum 10 years in related or mechanical field.
• Schedule flexibility as weekend coverage will be required. 
• Fluency in English Language – strong written & verbal communication.
• Physical Capacity Demands – ability to lift 30 lbs and wear a respirator.
• Some demonstrated leadership / supervisory experience
• Wear a cleanroom suit and personal protective equipment for cleanroom environment, as needed.
• Ability to climb up / down ladders, and fit into confined spaces for maintenance purposes.
• Fluency in Microsoft software programs and in basic computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education – 2 Year Associate's degree in technical or related field.
• 10 + years' experience, and or education, in facilities systems such as water treatment, water purification, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, chilled water and glycol chilled water, compressed air, chemical distribution, and control systems is desirable.
• Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning & organizational skills.
