A successful candidate for this role will be responsible for direct customer relationship building and supervision training and mentoring of field service personnel for APAC region to accomplish the testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of a wide variety of combustion, mechanical, electrical, and control equipment on our manufactured and packaged equipment.
The systems include, but is not limited to boiler systems, burners, flares, thermal oxidizers, VRUs, VCUs, and involves blowers, pumps, motors, valves, actuators, transmitters, emission monitoring equipment, recorders, and programmable logic controllers (PLC), HMI screens, VFD's, and other control equipment.
A Day in the Life:
To be successful, the Technical Services Manager will have to manage a team of Field service personnel and be able to solve problems with little or no outside input. Time Management, project and manpower schedule planning are critical to succeed in this position. Chosen candidate will need to be responsible for meeting all the safety, health and performance training requirements for themselves and insure all their direct reports are in 100% compliance.
Other management and operational responsibilities will include:
1. Direct interaction and developing alliances with key customers
2. Product developments for future growth of Field Services
3. Management and administrative tasks for hiring, training, deployment and continued development and mentoring of all direct report employees.
4. Review and correction of all direct report electronic logs and time keeping
5. Quick resolution and redirection on field issues as they develop
6. Developing key relationships with customers on a local and corporate level to gain market share for the region and strengthen our competitive advantage for service quality and customer satisfaction.
7. Development of field service manpower forecasting spreadsheets, technical bulletins, service personnel budgets and annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
8. Support the commercial sales effort in installation & construction projects
What You Will Need:
- Previous relevant experience in field service work
- General electrical and mechanical skills
- Instrumentation and control systems experience
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Degree of Technical Diploma in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Ability to work overtime
- Must be able to respond to service calls and call outs 24/7
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working on combustion equipment, industrial, electrical and electronic equipment including, but not limited to motors, valves, actuators, transmitters and PLC equipment
- Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) & HMI
- Experience working in a supervisory position.
- Experience in a service management or team management role
Physical Demands/Unusual Working Conditions:
- Flexibility to work various schedules as needed to meet demands of field projects, including travel and extended overnight stay and at times through weekends
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, flame retardant clothing (FRC,) safety toe boots, negative and positive pressure respirators, etc.
- Ability to sit, crawl, stoop, stand, kneel, crouch, climb and stand for large portion of workday.
- Ability to work in hot, cold or inclement climate conditions (100% outdoor working conditions)
- Ability to climb ladders and uneven surfaces
