• Provides certified personal training services to all eligible patrons.

The CYP Food Service Worker performs various tasks or a sequence of tasks in food service preparation. Tasks consist of several steps that require attention to work operations and follow and established sequence of work. These tasks, which are summarized into categories related to food preparation and service, kitchen maintenance, and food storage, are summarized below.

Food Preparation and Service

• Assist in food preparation with tasks such as peeling potatoes; cutting, sorting and washing vegetables and fruits; assembling sandwiches; and measuring and weighing ingredients.
• Stocks food service carts with appropriate utensils, plates, bowls, food and beverages, as required for family style dining in the classrooms or activity areas.
• Wraps, arranges, and/or packages items for serving to children and youth.
• Transports food from kitchen area to classrooms or activity areas.
• Returns carts, dishes, and leftover food to the kitchen and disposes of all food waste and trash.

• Pre-rinses and washes pots, pans, dishes, glasses and silverware in either a mechanical dishwasher or manually according to sanitation regulations.
• Cleans serving carts, food preparation areas, cupboards, drawers, and dishwashing areas.
• Sets up and operates a mechanical dishwasher.
• Removes inspection doors, strainer pans, screens, and spray arms for preventative maintenance and cleaning.
• Scrapes, soaks, scour, and scrubs the heavier cooking utensils such as mixing bowls and pots which, because of their large size and weight, are awkward to handle.

Provide instruction to small groups and large classes in issues related to marriage enhancement, positive parenting, anger management, stress management, communication skills, communication skills, conflict resolution, prevention and awareness of domestic abuse, child abuse, as well as problematic sexual behaviors in children and youth.

Develop and facilitate briefings and classes to commands and other military agencies on, domestic abuse and child abuse as well as non-nonnative sexual behaviors in children and youth in order to promote healthy family interactions, healthy sexual development and reduce incidences of family maltreatment in accordance with direction from higher headquarters.

Provide primary and secondary education and training to professionals and paraprofessionals who work with children aboard installation to include but not limited to: childcare programs, youth sports volunteers, schools, and law enforcement in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) policy.

Conducts training to commanders and senior enlisted personnel within 90 days of taking command and provides desk side briefs and training to new commanders and command team.

Provides briefings about the services available to the participants of groups such as the Family Readiness Groups upon request. Conducts Reintegration Training to returning service members to educate the Sailor about the challenges faced when returning home from deployment. Facilitates sessions of classes including but not limited to: Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program, Parenting with Love-n-Logic, Scream Free Marriage, and Scream Free Parenting. Plans, Sexual Health through Approachable Prevention and Education (SHAPE) and participates in enduring activities in support of campaigns such as Child Abuse Prevention Month Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDV AM).

Coordinates with community agencies, in accordance with agreements for both on and off support agencies, to ensure that comprehensive victim services and training are provided through a coordinated community response to domestic abuse victims. Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in services and improve prevention programming.

Analyze installation specific data regarding non-normative sexual behaviors in children and youth, child abuse and domestic abuse to identify populations at risk, trends, and areas of improvements.

II. Coordinated Community Response: 40%

Participate in the Family Advocacy Committee (F AC) the policy-making, coordinating, recommending, and overseeing body for the response to child abuse, domestic abuse and problematic sexual behavior in children and youth with other agencies in accordance with the Department of Defense Instruction.

Collaborate with other agencies within the "Coordinated Community Response" (CCR) framework under the F AC. Assist with the development of the CCR annual plan with specific objectives, strategies, and measurable outcomes.

Collaborate with other program specialists who develop the program evaluation plan, suggests methodology, and provides guidance on handling of technical problems, and public relations issues. Establish and maintain command and military community relationships.

Establish relationships with civilian organizations to improve coordination on issues related to family violence and non-normative child initiated sexual behaviors, engage in proactive outreach, and implement prevention programming.

Provide outreach to promote community awareness of the dynamics of abuse, local resources, and Family Advocacy Program services.

Conducts bi-annual installation scans to ensure that that military families, living on and off base have access to information about the Family Advocacy Program and that military families can access Family Advocacy Program resources from non-DoD agencies in the civilian community.

III. Administrative Safety Reporting: 10%

Document and record service delivery in accordance with installation procedures and higher headquarters policy. Adhere to safety regulations and standards. Use required safety equipment and observe safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

• Provide general information and answers patron questions in a pleasant and tactful fashion. Verifies the identification of all individuals entering the facility or event. Patrols the facility and adjacent grounds, circulating among patrons and guests to maintain good order and to prevent damage to the facility or its equipment.
• Advises patrons when they are in violation of infractions of the facility rules or regulations. Assist as necessary in patron control or apprehension when appropriate. In some cases, may tactfully remove offenders from the facility, using force as necessary. May call NAS Pensacola Security for assistance as required.
• Ensures that authorized patrons and guests use the assigned areas as applicable.
• Checks the facility for security, safety of fire hazards. Reports fires or fire hazards and may use fire extinguishers to put out small fires. Performs first aid in the event of an accident and calls the medical facility for assistance when necessary. Assures that all fire exits are functional during hours of operation and properly secured at the close of business. Maintains all necessary logs. Relieves other Host Personnel as appropriate.

• Assists with ongoing efforts of sustaining the Procurement Management and Assistance Program (PMAP) in direct support of the NAF project acquisitions program. This includes the post-award review of bonds; leading and/or participating in pre-construction meetings; coordinating with the administrative contracting officer source (commercial Title II, local FEAD, Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and local MWR/CSP staff); general and/or specific oversight of contractor and ACO performance; oversight of the payment process; change order control, and implementation of any necessary changes through the preparation and negotiation of any necessary contract modifications, supplemental agreements, option exercises, or other contractual means; and subcontracting oversight and performance monitoring.
• Supports the Region NAF Construction Contracting requirements in all other functional areas of contract administration, such as terminations for default or convenience, "cure notice" and "show cause" processes, post-performance assessment, and warranty administration.
• Develops and maintains contact with Department of Defense (DoD) and other Government agencies, with educational entities and trade associations, and with industry representatives for the purposes of exchanging information, evaluating proposals and establishing mutual positions for improving the construction contracting programs. The incumbent will manage and coordinate a wide range of meetings, conferences, and other forums with Government, commercial and educational entities to facilitate improvements in the construction contracting acquisition processes.
• Assists with the established MWR Director level NAF construction contracting warrant program, including the contracting officer nomination and selection processes. These actions will be coordinated with the Branch Head and Section Head, NAF Construction Contracting Section.
• Identifies processes that will lead to more efficient and effective business functions.
• Develops and evaluates innovative methods for facilities design, construction, and contracting.

The duties and responsibilities of the CY Program Assistant have been grouped into categories, including curriculum, indoor and outdoor environment, interactions and relationships, supervision of children and youth, parent and employee communication, assessment, compliance, and additional responsibilities. Each is described below.

Curriculum

Develops schedules and activity plans. This may include reviewing and providing input into schedules and activity plans developed by the entry level and intermediate level Educational Aids (CY Program Assistants), CY-1702-I. Ensures that program plans and activities incorporate the observed needs of individual children and youth.

Implements activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children and youth. Incorporates special instructions provided by parents such as special dietary needs, physical needs, or other information that may affect the child or youth's experience in the program.

Prepares and implements program options for children and youth with special requirements. Cares for children and youth with special needs as directed by the supervisor.

Demonstrates, instructs, leads, and facilitates planned and spontaneous program activities.

Role models developmentally appropriate practice and classroom or activity area management techniques.

Promotes and models safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices.

Helps arrange for and/or serve appropriate snacks or meals where applicable.

Indoor and Outdoor Environment

Helps prepare, arrange and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules.

Sets up displays and bulletin boards.

Inventories equipment on a recurring basis and recommends replenishing damaged, missing, and depleted supplies.

Secures supplies, equipment, and facilities.

Interactions and Relationships

Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth and adults.

Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.

Supervision of Children and Youth

Provides care and supervision, oversight, and accountability for program participants in compliance with the Department of Defense (DoD), NAF Component, and local installation policies, guidance, and standards.

Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth.

Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events.

Ensures children and youth (as applicable) depart with authorized person according to written parental instructions.

Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse, or neglect and reports as directed. Incumbent is a mandatory reporter to Family Advocacy and Child Protective Services as prescribed by local policy in the case of suspected incidences of child abuse and neglect.

Parent and Employee Communication

Interacts professionally with employees, parents, and local installation command personnel.

Provides parents with daily verbal or written feedback about their child/youth or program activities.

Participates in conferences with parents and employees.

Assessment

Observes children and youth and documents developmental progression and/or concerns. Uses the information in planning.

Participates in program evaluation using designated instruments such as programmatic rating scales, risk assessment tools (as required), self-inspection materials, and national accreditation tools.

Compliance

Assists in achieving and maintaining DoD certification and national accreditation or equivalent.

Ensures compliance with law, policies, and regulations applicable to DoD CY programs Notifies supervisor of health, fire, and safety compliance concerns.

Additional Responsibilities

Collects, maintains, and reports program participation data.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Performs beverage service functions in a bar or lounge area.
• Asks patrons what beverages are desired and writes the order on a guest check.
• Describes or suggests cocktails, highballs, wines, or other beverages upon request. Gives order to bartender. Receives and places beverages on a small tray and serves patrons. Adds fruit or decorations to cocktails, as required.
• Collects payment from patrons and settles account with bartender or cashier.
• Observes when patron leaves and cleans tables. Returns used glassware to bar. Maintains clean work area.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Must meet minimum age requirement.

• Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items including regular and special entrees and dessert items.
• Works alone or with a higher grade cook to roast, broil, bake, fry, boil, steam, and stew meats, fish, and poultry.
• Prepares soups, stocks, broths, gravies, sauces, and puddings without the use of packaged mixes.
• Makes a variety of dessert items such as baked Alaska, crepes, and mousses.
• Adjusts standardized recipes for the number of servings required in large quantity cooking.
• Maintains proper temperature for all foods during holding, transport, reheating, and serving to assure quality control and food safety.
• Prepares cold food platters; mixes and prepares cold sauces, meat glazes, molded aspics, and salad dressings.
• Carves vegetables and fruits as garnishes for food platters and dishes.
• Maintains rotation of food inventories to prevent spoilage.
• May assist management in purchasing and menu pricing decisions by performing yield tests for selected foods, in ordering items in accordance with daily and weekly menu requirements and preparing food production worksheets from computerized recipe files.
