We are looking for full-time Community Advisors to join our GAIN (Guidance, Advice, Information and Network) Project.
Community Advisors for Multiple Needs will provide personalised support to disadvantaged vulnerable adults living in Birmingham to support the improvement of their health and wellbeing. You will work within one of Birmingham’s 4 main quadrants (Birmingham North, Birmingham South, Birmingham East, Birmingham West & Central) delivering advice and support from accessible outreach locations.

We are looking for candidates who:
Have excellent communication skills
Can complete tasks to the highest quality
Can monitor and maintain own standards ensuring work is accurate
Are experienced in working with a diverse range of people and providing a welcoming environment for clients
Are in possession of a full driving licence and use of a car, or otherwise able to fulfil the travel requirements necessary
Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate to enable them to carry out their role
Responsibilities / Key Tasks:
Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities
Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.
To maintain confidentiality, use discretion and sound judgement in undertaking all areas of responsibility
Provide advice, information and guidance on a range of issues including housing, benefits, debt, employment and health services
Work as part of a wider team through a multi-agency approach, collaborating with local organisations to raise awareness of the service and strengthen the local community offering

Salary – £23,400-£24,822 depending on experience
Hybrid Working – at outreach venues across one of the four quadrants and from home
Contract – fixed-term until 30 Nov 2029 with possible extension for another 2 years
