We are recruiting a Social Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Rhymney Health and Social Care Centre
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Adult Social Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £37,938 - £40,476 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
We are an enthusiastic and dedicated team who strive to support older adults and their carers, who are in need of care and support. The teams deliver services to older adults, who have mental health or physical health needs. A high proportion of our work involves supporting those who have a dementia diagnosis.
The post holder will be required to provide a social work service to the public within current legislation, regulations, guidance, and the Directorate’s policies and procedures. If you are effective at building positive working relationships, have good communication and IT skills and have a genuine passion and commitment to improve outcomes for older people and their families, we want to hear from you. We work collaboratively to promote "what matters" and to achieve positive outcomes. The post holder will undertake assessments, reviews and also contribute to the duty rota within the team.
Those applying will need to have a good understanding of the application of the principles set out in the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The team has an established culture of teamwork where staff are very supportive of each other.

For the role, we ask that you have:
1. A Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
Successful completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1 st April 2016)
2. Knowledge of the Social Services and Well being Act (Wales), Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty legislation
3. A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit clients and attend meetings.
