Job Purpose:
The EIT Lead is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and supervising all Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Technology (EICT) fabrication and installation activities. The role ensures that all work is executed in compliance with project specifications, timelines, and safety protocols. The EIT Lead is also responsible for leading a team of supervisors and foremen, ensuring efficient task delegation, progress monitoring, and the preparation of weekly progress reports and look-ahead plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Leadership:
- Lead a team of EIT supervisors and foremen to ensure seamless execution of EICT-related fabrication and installation activities.
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor daily progress, and prepare detailed weekly progress reports and forecasts.
- Ensure timely availability of engineering drawings, resources, and consumables required for project activities.
- Coordinate EIT work with various departments, including QA/QC, materials, painting, and other disciplines (structural, piping, mechanical, HVAC, commissioning, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure that the project timeline is adhered to by closely monitoring subcontractor performance and enforcing strict timekeeping and discipline.
Risk Management & Safety:
- Identify potential risks and hazards associated with electrical works and prepare corresponding risk assessments and method statements.
- Conduct pre-job briefings and toolbox talks to ensure the workforce is informed about the day's activities and safety protocols.
- Ensure that all job sites comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, and intervene when violations occur.
- Enforce safe work practices on-site, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment at all times.
- Attend and actively participate in Project Safety Coordination Committee (PSCC) meetings, daily inspections, weekly management inspections, and client audits.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all EIT activities are performed to the highest quality standards, aligning with project specifications.
- Participate in line walks, creating and tracking punch lists to identify and resolve outstanding issues before the completion of EIT activities.
- Oversee punch list liquidation and ensure subcontractors promptly address identified deficiencies.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including other disciplines, subcontractors, and project management teams, to ensure the smooth integration of EIT activities with the broader project scope.
- Liaise with relevant teams for necessary inspections, audits, and final approval of works.
Site Management:
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across fabrication shops and erection sites, ensuring work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Take proactive measures to halt any work that compromises safety, quality, or HSE requirements and report to the concerned discipline for immediate resolution.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience in EIT fabrication, installation, erection methodologies, and punch list clearance.
- Proficient in project management software, especially PIMS OMEGA, for tracking mechanical completion activities.
- Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, particularly in FPSO, shipbuilding, and ship repair industries.
Education & Certifications:
- Engineering degree or diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent qualification.
- Preferred completion of the Shipyard Safety Instruction Course (SSIC) or equivalent safety training.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the FPSO, module, shipbuilding, or ship repair industries.
- Familiarity with EIT-related activities within the offshore and marine sectors is highly desirable.
