Duties of a Supervisory Computer Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Leads the planning and execution of efforts to recommend the integration and optimization of the Board of Veterans' Appeals automated systems.
- Develops short and long-range plans covering projects, initiating special programs to cover contingencies or emergencies as they arise.
- Identifies implementation and operating problems, which may have impact on objectives or time-phased schedules, and develops the reasons or causes and assures appropriate action is taken.
- Consolidates and reviews reports, documents, and letters relating to the operations and obtains clarification of questionable information or trends and makes recommendations or takes appropriate action to resolve deficiencies.
- Directs technical execution of work by reviewing accomplishment in terms of plans, procedures, and schedules to determine adequacy to meet programmed objectives.
- Prepares and defines technical details for budget and work program estimates. Reviews budget and work program estimates submitted by contractors for sufficiency, completeness, soundness, and adequacy.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. The employee may carry light items such as books, instruments, and other similar materials. Some travel to various VA facilities, training sites, or conferences may be required. The work does not require any special physical effort.
