We are looking for a passionate cook for our children and staff. We are a boutique-sized school, hence, we need the cook to help with cleaning.

School is not open on weekends.

Meal preparation

• Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks for children
• Lunch for teachers and staff

Maintaining school and kitchen cleanliness and hygiene at all times up to excellent health and sanitation standards

• Clean and maintain toilet and classroom cleanliness
• Clean and maintain kitchen and kitchen equipment
• Wash children’s utensils after breakfast, lunch, and tea break.

Managing ingredients, supporting the chef as required

• Order weekly cooking ingredients, including inspecting and storing upon delivery
• Check purchased groceries for expiry and usefulness to ensure consistent quality food kept to our high standards

Maintain and report marketing budget to centre principal.

About the Programme:

The Trainee Early Years Teacher (ACEY) scheme is a place-and-train programme designed to immerse you in the young children environment (Playgroup and Nursery 1).

Through a combination of classroom training and workplace attachment, you will be provided real-time feedback and peer support for your optimal learning.

As a Trainee Early Years Teacher, you will be focusing on looking after young children aged 1.5 to 3 years old by creating a safe and conducive learning environment for infants. You will be enrolled for the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY) course that specialize in the learning and development of children aged 0 to 3 years old.

Upon graduation, you will be awarded the ACEY certificate and deployed as an Early Years Teacher teaching children aged 1.5 to 3 years. A 1-year bond is applicable.

Requirements:

• Possess at least GCE N Levels or above. Diploma holders and above are welcome to apply
• Enjoys working with young children (1.5 to 3 years old), and is comfortable with performing routine care duties for young children
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Prior experience in taking care of infants/ young children (below 3) will be advantageous

This opportunity is a full-time attachment to our childcare centre under mentorship with a mentor teacher. The trainee teacher will be coached through the apprentice program undergoing the Diploma in Early Childhood Education course and will be able to assume the role of a Childcare Teacher upon completion of the course on the following:

Entry course requirements:

• Local Polytechnic Diploma and obtained a GCE O level credit of B4 in English (EL1) or a minimum band 6.5 in IELTS (Academics); OR
• Obtained a Degree with English as the medium of instruction from a state-recognised university
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient towards children is an advantage
• Able to work well independently as well as within a team

Job responsibilities:

The Trainee Teacher will assist the English Teacher and the Principal in the execution of professional duties and responsibilities.

• Working with English Teacher, provide appropriate learning experiences for children within an inquiry, play-based context
• Assist the English Teacher in documenting the children’s learning through contributions via newsletters, portfolios etc.
• Create a warm and nurturing environment for children
• Build and maintain close partnership with parents

Upon Completion of the course:

You will be conferred the Diploma in Early Childhood Education by recognised awarding institutions and will be qualified to teach Playgroup, Nursery, K1 and K2 children from 18 months to 6 years old.
