Job Description:
The Job
- Design, implement and perform operational support of the company’s network infrastructure, Switches (Aruba, Arista, Cisco, HP), routers (Arista, Cloudgenix, Cisco), wireless (Cisco, Aruba), Firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco), Network Policy (ISE, Clearpass),and network visibility (Arista, NetScout, ExtraHop).
- Design & Development of Network Infrastructure Solutions that are highly available and support business continuity requirements.
- Simplify, Secure, Standardize, Automate, and develop Self Service throughout the Network Services portfolio.
- Work with the Network Operations Team to educate and train staff on network technologies.
- Work with PB’s business areas, vendors and other system professionals to identify, design and implement innovative network solutions.
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for products that support the network Infrastructure.
- Participate in workflow and policy improvements.
- Support engineering and sustaining engineering projects as the Global Network Services representative.
- Establish the networking environment by designing networking configurations, participating with installations, and defining, documenting, and enforcing network standards.
- Develop and maintain network topology, solution, and application-flow diagrams.
- Assist Network Operations maximizing network performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages.
- Secure network systems by implementing security controls and establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
- Working with Network Operations, select and implement network and network security tools along with network standard operating procedures.
- Provide on-call 24x7 support when required.
- Assist with preparing Statement of Work documents and seeking vendor input.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- BS/MS in Computer Engineering or relative working experience
- 6-8 years working as a Network Engineer
- Ten or more years of experience in the Information Technology field
- CCIE certification or equivalent experience
Must have:
Strong Technical knowledge of the following network/security Infrastructure technologies:
- Cisco, Aruba, or Arista Switching.
- Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF)
Nice to have:
- Public Cloud providers (e.g. Amazon AWS/Azure)
- Firewalls (Fortinet/Cisco ASA/Zscaler)
- Scripting knowledge and automation experience (Python/Ansible) Cisco/Aruba Wireless
- SD-WAN (Cloudgenix, Fortinet)
- Load Balancing (F5. Cloudflare)
