The Quantitative Analyst will participate in model validation to ensure model risks are correctly identified, assessed, and managed. MRM’s validation work is focused on models in the following general areas: wholesale credit risk, market risk, securities finance, asset management, and stress testing.

 Specific tasks performed during model reviews include:

• Assessing model theory and assumptions as well as considering modeling methods and alternate options
• Testing and confirming model results by using documented procedures for running models
• Assessing computational accuracy by reviewing code documentation for proper model implementation, including the possible simulation of results
• Assessing the integrity of data inputs
• Assessing the stability and robustness of models by conducting backtesting, sensitivity testing, and stress testing

Job Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field; senior positions require 2-3 years of model validation experience in a financial services firm

The VP, Operational Risk – Scenario Analysis, will lead the development and execution of a Business Line Scenario Analysis program, in line with Basel Committee for Banking Supervision Principles for Sound Management of Operational Risk.  Develop program framework, methodology, documentation standards, deliver training to the First Line of Defense (FLOD), oversee execution by FLOD to ensure compliance with framework/methodology.  The role holder will also contribute to the development and execution of an operational risk internal stress testing program in partnership with Global Treasury Risk Management.

The role will report to the Managing Director, Head of Operational Risk Capital and Stress Testing, and Scenario Analysis.  This role sits within the Operational Risk Foundational Programs team.  This team is part of the second line of defense within Enterprise Risk Management.

The role is global in nature and will require excellent communication, negotiation and partnership skills in order to influence a wide variety of stakeholders.

• Engage with stakeholders within Risk and across business segments to mature the firm’s Operational Risk Scenario Analysis Framework
• Lead global scenario analysis by collecting relevant internal / external data, managing specific scenario user tools, facilitating scenario workshops, producing quantification results and developing presentations to represent outcomes.
• Develop training strategy and related materials to support the scenario analysis program
• Design and deliver reports which clearly communicate outcomes of the scenario analysis program for a variety of audiences including the Board & Senior Management.

Role Summary:

State Street Corporation is seeking an energetic, detail oriented, and analytical Risk and Control Self-Assessment specialist to join its Operational Risk Identification & Assessment Team.  This role will report to the Head of Operational Risk Identification & Assessment and will partner with key business stakeholders and other risk program owners.

This role will assist in the design and implementation of an enhanced RCSA Program across State Street Corporation and will be responsible for providing effective challenge of the enterprise results as well as compliance with policy.  The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining core taxonomies among other framework elements.

The ideal candidate will have functional knowledge of applicable best practices and regulatory expectations for an integrated Risk and Control Self-Assessment Program, Internal Control Frameworks and ORM systems of record (Archer - GRC Platform), firmwide program implementation.

The role is global in nature and will require excellent communication, negotiation and partnership skills in order to influence a wide variety of stakeholders, including external regulators.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support the Head of Operational Risk Identification & Assessment in developing an enhanced Risk & Control Self-Assessment Program

• Implement and oversee the RCSA program, including the annual attestation, quality oversight, process management, enterprise control execution and related reporting.

• Manage RCSA policy, standards and procedures to ensure the RCSA program is executed in accordance with the ORM Policy & Framework

• Develop and maintain ORM taxonomies, tools and methodologies to support accurate and consistent assessments of the risk and control environment

• Establish and monitor KPIs to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of the RCSA Program

• Review complex information and large data sets with the ability to simplify for effective communication and presentation to senior management

• Assist in the development of training, communication and awareness programs to drive effective RCSA adoption and promote a strong culture of risk management

• Collaborate with Compliance to drive an integrated RCSA

• Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities associated with the RCSA (i.e. RAU changes, schedule changes, program methodology changes, etc); inclusive of maintaining relevant documentation, tracking and monitoring change activities and delivery of key management communications.

• Confidentially raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge of both 1st and 2nd Lines of Defense in their execution of the RCSA

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of direct experience with developing / managing Risk & Control Self Assessments for financial institutions

• 7+ years experience with GRC Tools (ex. Archer)

State Street is looking for strong Analyst with 9+ years’ experience in business, system and data analysis for the Alpha and Middle Office Technology Team, which is part of Global Technology Services. This is a hands-on role for a candidate with a proven record of analyzing business requirements and map them to system and data requirements.

The candidate has experience in Financial Services, has supported Front/Middle/Back-office business units/clients, and has exposure to Workflow and Cash Processing.
