Let me take you through a typical day of a Driver BE at Boels in Cardiff. In the morning, you start at 0730hrs and fortunately the transport planning is already done. Together with your colleagues, you load all the plant equipment and small tools into the vans and trailers and you take your coffee ‘to-go’ because you are need to deliver the equipment straight to the client. You are on your way and unfortunately get stuck in a traffic jam (typical!!!). Because you know how important it is to deliver on time, you call your colleague at the branch so that he can pass this information on to the customer. Once you get there, an impatient contractor comes up to you. As a Driver, you know better than anyone how to solve this and you know how to get the contractor back on-side. This way, you can quickly unload and move on to the next job. When you are at one of the sites, you advise on the use of the machines, carefully check the technical condition of them and make sure that the administration is done correctly. Your eye for detail is really important here!

At the end of the rental period, you collect all the equipment from the customer and bring it back to the Cardiff branch. This way, the mechanics can clean and check it, so we can make the next customer happy again!

It can sometimes be hard physical work as a Driver, but this is what you like to do! You roll up your sleeves and get stuck in! Sometimes your colleagues at the counter might need help. You jump in and help them, without thinking twice. One goal, one team!

For this job, you finish around 5 o'clock every day (of course, there are exceptions). This means you have plenty of time to be with your family, play sports or hang out with friends. Sounds good, right?

About the opportunity:

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a temperature controlled Driver (van provided) to join our existing team based in our Cardiff Distribution Centre.

Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for checking, loading and delivering orders to a range of customers on a predetermined route.

Your key responsibilities will also include ensuring the products are carried in the correct conditions with temperature, cleanliness and security all being paramount. As a very visible face to the public and our customers we are looking for the best, and our rate of pay certainly reflects this.

In this role you will be required to be able to lift (products up to 15kg), bend, twist, kneel, and crouch.

Salary

£33,114.90 Per Annum, £12.13 per hour

Working Pattern

An average of 52.5 hours, working Monday to Friday for 9.5 hours, with 5 hours on a Saturday.

INDPHD

Our client a provider of accommodation services is looking for a Passenger Driver to cover the Cardiff area.

You will report directly to the Initial Accommodation Manager and be responsible for the transportation of service users.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work as part of a team to provide safe and secure transportation.
• Collect and transport service users and their belongings safely to their destination.
• Maintain record journeys and complete paperwork.
• Remain compliant and drive in accordance with UK Road Traffic Regulations and The Highway Code.
• Conduct all driving tasks in a legal, safe, and skillful manner by exercising due care and attention.
• Conduct all vehicle tasks to a high standard and in a safe and proficient manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Passenger transportation/driving experience
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Software
• High degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information
• Current full UK driving licence

SALARY, BENEFITS AND HOURS:

• £22,020.00 - £29,000.00 depending on experience
• 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8.30am-5pm)
