About the role
We are now recruiting for a Duty Manager to join the team on a full time (35 hours), 8 month fixed term contract.

As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in upholding our standards and ensuring a fantastic experience for our visitors. Working closely with colleagues across all operational departments, you will ensure a smooth and efficient operations including the enjoyment, security, experience, well-being and Health and Safety of the Museum visitors, colleagues and contractors.

You will act as a floor-based manager delivering routine museum operations, as well as overseeing and coordinating responses to operational problems that arise during public opening hours. You will be able to operate independently when required as the senior manager on-site, ensuring that all KPIs and service standards are met.

This contract is due to start at the beginning of February 2025.
Salary: £26,436 per annum

1. Policy implementation: Review and update policy on research security and collaborate with research units to implement related procedures and protocols.

A Research Assistant is needed to provide technical, research, and administrative support for ongoing projects in our flexible electronics laboratory.

The SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (“SDGHI”) is a platform for global health activities across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (“AMC”). The Planetary Health Initiative is SDGHI’s newest strategic initiative. Planetary health pertains to the integrated state of health of both people and the planet. It recognizes that people’s health is now greatly shaped by human-driven global environmental change, such as climate change, environmental pollution, rapid urbanisation, biodiversity loss, among others. Addressing these interlocking challenges requires concerted actions within and beyond the health sector, spanning diverse disciplines and nations.

Job Description

You will work as an integral part of the laboratory operations team, providing support to the laboratory manager in operations and related laboratory duties such as safety matters, procurement and core equipment training. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed accurately and efficiently
  Facilitate training and development of laboratory users
  Support the operations team on laboratory safety and documentation
  Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment
  Manage the laboratory procurement of equipment and supplies, including negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers
  Implement and oversee maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
  Maintain the microfabrication cleanroom in functional state
  Stay abreast of technological advancements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  Other ad-hoc duties

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from a reputable university
• At least one year of working experience in a research/laboratory environment and familiarity with research operations
• Working experience in rapid prototyping, CAD or cleanroom microfabrication is preferred, but not necessary
• Understanding of safety regulations and compliance
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with team members and researchers
• Passionate in mastering research equipment and passing on knowledge to users
