What skills and experience we're looking for
King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Science teacher to join our high-performing successful department. We would ideally recruit a teacher with a specialism in Physics who would join a department containing 3 further Physics specialists.
As a teacher you will teach Science across the age and ability range and specialise at Key Stage 4 and 5. Science is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. In 2023, over 80% of Year 11 students achieved at least two GCSE science grades at 9-4 and almost half of the cohort takes the Triple Science pathway. Results are very strong at GCSE in both Separate Sciences and Combined Science. We have a strong uptake for A-level, with multiple groups for all sciences in both Year 12 & 13. Physics results across Key Stage 4 and 5 are exceptionally strong. We also teach a successful Level 3 Diploma in Medical Science.
We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills alongside the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to show a passion for their subject, work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.
