This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of science education within the academy, supporting the Director of Learning in fostering a high-quality learning environment and promoting student progress across Key Stage 3.

As Key Stage 3 Science Coordinator, you will:
Lead, inspire, and motivate the science team in teaching Key Stage 3 Science.
Support continuous improvement in teaching and learning quality.
Monitor pupil progress across Key Stage 3, ensuring all students thrive academically.
Contribute significantly to all aspects of the wider science curriculum.

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for students, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.

You will have:
A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
The ability to teach to GCSE standard.
Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.
Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Science. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who is driven to raising achievement and promoting high expectations of our pupils. The successful candidate would be expected to teach a range of classes across KS3 & KS4.

While this role is initially offered as maternity cover, the opportunity for a permanent position may arise depending on the continued growth and future needs of the school, as the school has experienced significant and continuing growth over a number of years.

This post is suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers. The post is initially offered as a full 12-month contract. A physics specialism would be advantageous, however there is sufficient expertise and flexibility in the department to allow all specialisms to apply with equality of opportunity.

We are seeking an outstanding practitioner to support the Director of Learning in continuing to move the department forward building on significant improvements in recent years. The role would be an excellent position for a practitioner seeking to take on curriculum responsibility as they progress towards positions in middle and senior leadership under the guidance of an excellent subject leader. Candidates would be well supported to develop their curriculum, pedagogical and leadership skillsets in a school keen to develop leaders of education.

The successful candidate will bring with them their enthusiasm for science and the capacity to inspire and motivate both students and staff.

We are keen to hear from candidates who will:

• Take a lead in inspiring and motivating the science team in the teaching of Key Stage 3 Science.
• Be responsible for supporting the Director of Learning in continuously improving the quality of teaching and learning.
• Be responsible for monitoring pupil progress across Key Stage 3.
• Make a significant contribution to all aspects of the wider science curriculum.
