About the role We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our Science team as either a Science Technician or Senior Science Technician, depending on experience. A Science Technician would provide a technician service and classroom support to the Science Department and a Senior Science Technician would lead the team of Science Technicians, working closely with the Head of Science, to oversee the provision of practical support in the Science Department for staff and pupils at all key stages in the school. We are looking for a Research Accounts Executive to join our Finance department and support a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) with research specific financial issues. You will play a key role in managing a portfolio of externally funded research projects from award to final submission, providing advice and support to staff and stakeholders. You will also be responsible for preparing and reviewing project budgets, forecasts, management accounts, financial statements, submissions and audits, as well as validating and authorising research application costings.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Experience of working in a research finance environment
Knowledge of research funding rules and regulations
Ability to work independently and proactively
Strong customer service and relationship building skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Confident in Excel

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £35,000 - £40,000. You will also enjoy 30 days of annual leave (pro rata) plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year.
