SSE IT is looking for a highly self-motivated individual to fill the role of Corporate Solutions BI Team Leader. The successful applicant will be working as part of the Corporate Solutions Delivery and Support Group within the Corporate Directorate. This is a challenging role, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and versatile individual. Reporting to the Corporate Solutions Technology Manager you will be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of the Corporate Oracle BI Delivery and Support team.
This team is responsible for the development and support of the Corporate Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE 12g) implementation. The primary data source is SSEs eBusiness Suite (v12.2.9) instance named Harmony. The platform surfaces operational reporting in the key areas of Payroll, HR, LMS, OTL, Finance (AP, GL, SLA, FA) and Order Management/Logistics. Timely resolution of any incidents and problems that occur and ensuring a risk-based approach to patch application is adopted across the team. The team is also responsible for the implementation of new operational reporting from the OBIEE instance. Adoption of Agile methodologies across the team will be required where this approach is deemed appropriate.
What is the Role?
- Responsibility for the day to day running of the Corporate Oracle BI Delivery and Support team, including setting the teams objectives and priorities.
- Ensuring the adequate resourcing of the team and the appropriate escalation of issues.
- Working with senior business users and IT teams to establish and analyse new requirements.
- Promotion of risk management within the team.
- Support project & enhancement releases and the implementation of any regulatory & statutory requirements, security patches & software upgrades to the EBS platforms.
- Maintain the overall quality of releases, ensuring that they meet the required standards and secure any resources required.
- Effectively manage communications between various IT groups, third parties and the business community.
- Assess the impact & risk of changes on the OBIEE implementation and make decisions accordingly.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Strong management skills.
- A strong understanding of Oracle eBusiness Suite, or similar ERP.
- Proven experience of managing a reporting team at an enterprise level.
- Be an excellent team player and know how to get the best from a team.
- Possess the ability to prioritise workload and adhere to demanding schedules.
- Have a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving.
- The ability to network both internally and externally, often with senior managers.
- Have a sound awareness of IT Change Management and Security policies.
- Possess a strong knowledge of software, test & project lifecycles including Agile methodologies.
- Be customer focussed and committed to providing first-class customer service.
