What you’ll be doing as a Quality and Environmental Lead
- Maintain the external certification of the company management systems.
- Review and support the development of documented business processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and environmental permit requirements and achieve business plans and regulatory targets.
- Work with key internal colleagues to identify enhanced integration and improvement areas and ensure compliance with existing processes, procedures, and permit requirements.
- Provide a lead role in internal audits, including developing the internal audit programme, undertaking internal audits and reporting.
- Provide a lead role in external audits, including engagement with the external auditor, coordination and briefing of internal stakeholders for audit interviews and site visits and management of non-conformities.
- Help drive the company to learn from its non-conformances and embed that learning to prevent reoccurrence.
- Manage and maintain the management system and action-tracking databases.
- Help run the annual management review meeting.
- Provide specialist advice on management systems and deliver awareness training.
- Support the preparation of ad-hoc regulatory responses relating to the Management System.
Hybrid– Clearwater Court, Reading – you will be required to be in the office or on-site two days a week and as the business requires you to
36 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
It would benefit the successful candidate to have transport access and a driving licence for this role.
What you should bring to the role
- Knowledge of management systems and relevant ISO Standards in the utilities industry
- Working background in scoping and delivering internal audits
- Knowledge of coordinating and leading external ISO audits
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal colleagues, managers, senior leaders, and external stakeholders.
- Be a leader and support the embedding of change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours regardless of seniority or rank.
- Background in document/report writing skills.
- Confident in designing, improving and implementing processes and standards
