Regional Quality Manager required for a Tier 1 contractor based in Berkshire. The company are one of the most successfully privately owned profitable contractors in the country and their Southern operations are based from their office near Reading and turnover in excess of £1 billion a year.
They target schemes between £20 and £90 million on frameworks and repeat business opportunities with long term clients and will also identify and target single stage regen and development schemes up to £150 million - typical schemes are large schools and multi phased education schemes, student accommodation, PRS developments, high rise office and resi schemes, distribution hubs and large multi use retail and leisure developments - a really wide and diverse range of projects to work on.
The role is to provide quality and systems support to the business at bid, preconstruction, on site delivery and commissioning through to defects and warranty periods. You will be responsible for the companies quality plan and be involved in early stage works to ensure compliance in terms of the legal obligations of the wider business, full compliance with any external manufacturer and working with the supply chain to check and and ensure compliance of their independent quality systems. You will be responsible for checking of on-site quality with the delivery teams and sub-contractors and be expected to audit and maintain a register and reporting procedure for NCR's and the wider best practices. You will manage, update and amend the regional plan and work to ensure compliance with the relevant ISO standards and other industry benchmarks. You will also investigate latent defects and other short and long term compliance issues so the wider business can learn and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
The role would suit someone from a QA/Inspection background with a construction related business or a construction professional such as a project or site manager looking to change career path who have a forensic interest in quality and continuous improvement practices.
