Railway Axles Ultrasonic Tester (PCN Level 1 or 2)
Home Based with travel across UK Permanent / Full Time
Circa £35,000 to £40,000 (DOE) plus benefits
We’re looking to recruit an experienced PCN Level 1 or 2 qualified Railway Axles Ultrasonic Tester (UAT) to join us as an NDT Field Technician. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver Non-Destructive Test (NDT) services to our key contracts by conducting on-site inspection and testing in accordance with our procedures and industry standards to meet our contractual obligations in line with customer expectations.
The requirement to work remotely at customer sites may come at short notice; whilst this is managed well a high level of flexibility is required. Travel, accommodation, and overnight allowances when staying away from home will be available; there is also a premium applied when overnight shift working.

What you’ll need to do the role:
Essential
- PCN Railway Axles Ultrasonic Tester (PCN Level 1 or 2)
- Experience as NDT practitioner in the rail industry.
- Good level of competency and use of Microsoft Office.
- Numerate, accurate, with a good level of literacy.
- Ability to work autonomously and make pragmatic decisions.
- Good timekeeping.
- High degree of flexibility and can deal with ambiguity.
- Flexible to travel to customers across the UK.
