Directs a highly technical workforce, including functionally integrated teams of operational and support personnel, that provides air traffic control services throughout a geographic area. The work impacts the safe, orderly. and expeditious movement of aircraft as well as segments of the aviation industry. Continuously reviews work processes to assure that results meet the agency's mission and the customer's needs, add value to facility services, and are efficiently achieved. Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates, and is responsible for team building throughout the facility. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates. Sets and adjusts long and short-term priorities. The primary purpose of this position is: To ensure quality characteristics are met for product quality verification on aircraft, systems, and products. Also to provide effective and comprehensive oversight and management of a government contract program located in the 301st Fighter Wing.

• Develops and implements a structured and systematic quality assurance surveillance program for all facets of integrated logistics support, providing maintenance managers with the assurance that propulsion system contractors, fleet maintainers, fleet operators, program office engineers and logisticians, and airworthiness authority delegates adhere to customer required specifications in technical, safety, deliverables, and reporting directives
• Consolidates data collection processes for clear and concise reporting, utilized by all levels in the management chain for evaluation, inspection, and audit programs. Independently evaluates the results and, where necessary, recommends the most appropriate corrective action to command level management
• Reviews aircraft field sustainment repairs and maintenance, gathers metrics and prepares reports to initiate corrective action if results indicate contract standards or performance requirements are not met
• Identifies and documents vulnerabilities within the inspection and acceptance of supplies/service to ensure safety of flight

Major duties of the Supervisory Health System Specialist (Corporate Compliance Officer) include:

• Responsible for the initiation and completion of administrative investigations and fact-findings as approved by the Health Care System Director.
• Directing, developing, implementing, and overseeing a multi-disciplinary, health-care-system-wide Compliance Section within the scope of the VHA mandated Privacy Program, Records Information Management Program, Conflict of Interest, and Compliance & Business Integrity (CBI) Program (which includes auditing, monitoring and creation of corrective action plan activities in the areas of coding, documentation, purchased care, exclusionary lists, conflict of interest, accuracy of patient registration, etc.), Controlled Substance Program, VHA policy related to Administrative Investigative Boards, VHA policy related to Access, and VISN equivalent of each of these programs.
• Establish goals and work plans for the Compliance Section and ensures the implementation of the goals and objectives of the section.
• Determine issues, areas, and/or subject matter that create risk for the organization and makes recommendations to executive leadership as to how to avoid or minimize the identified risks.
• Creates written policies and procedures that promote commitment to corporate compliance and address specific areas of risk associated with the Health Care System business, practices, operations, privacy, Records Information Management, investigations, and audits of scheduling and consult practices.

• The duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Schedules, plans, and conducts comprehensive, on-site and virtual reviews of small- to mid-sized FAS cooperators, participants, grant recipients, and private voluntary organizations' financial systems.

As a Financial Compliance Manager (Chief, Office of Compliance), you will:

• Direct and monitor the Bureau's internal control, product accountability, and internal quality audit program to provide reasonable assurance that assets are safeguarded from loss, misuse, or misappropriation, and to ensure conformance with the Bureau's quality management system.
• Oversee the planning and conducting of independent reviews of Bureau organizations, programs, systems and activities to assess the adequacy of and to improve internal controls and compliance with internal and external control-related requirements.
• Provide monthly and other periodic reports to executive level management in the Bureau regarding outstanding corrective actions and controls reviews.
• Serve as a member, Ex Officio, on the Bureau's executive level Internal Control Policy Committee (ICPC) and advise ICPC regarding internal control and audit related issues.

This is a career ladder progression position; the duties described below are at the GS-11 level. • Independently conducts a wide variety of onsite safety and health inspections and investigations of mining operations as applicable, mills, preparation plants and related facilities.
• Prepares written reports of inspections and investigations, issuing citations and orders for violations found during examinations.
• Promotes safety and health among mine operators and workers by directing and participating in safety and health training programs, meetings, demonstrations, mine rescue competitions, and related activities.
• Provides technical advice and guidance to mine operators to help them solve problems and comply with mine safety and health requirements.
• Assists mine operators in the planning of modifications to improve and/or correct deficiencies in the operation such as selecting and installing new equipment and changing materials or methods.

Work Environment: The incumbent inspects and/or investigates both surface and underground mining operations as applicable, which is a very hazardous and stressful work environment surrounded by a high risk of exposure to potentially dangerous situations. In addition to the characteristically dark, wet, and cramped environment, underground mines contain noxious gases and fumes, and the danger of potentially explosive dust or gases, electrical fires, roof falls, and exposure to radiation.
