We're looking for someone who can support a range of activities relating to end to end process mapping and documentation, identifying gaps and understanding where automation is possible. Ideally with experience in a related field (e.g. audit or risk & control management) or, alternatively, having gained capability through experience in a similar function along with:

In Quality Engineering you will work to deliver customer driven testing solutions and quality software to take on business problems and realise value to customers through excellence in execution. You will do this by implementing the right level of Quality Engineering principles and artefacts across all testing types through Agile testing with an 'Automation First' approach.

What you'll do…

As a Quality Engineer in your day to day you'll:

• Work in an Agile fashion with colleagues from different fields to plan and execute highly effective testing to ensure excellent delivery quality to colleagues and customers.

• Exercise your "T-Shape" capabilities to develop and further improve the expansion of our Test Automation framework to deliver quality testing in a rapid execution timeline.

• Be part of the Quality Engineering community to learn and grow individually but also working with others to help the community improve.

• Work collaboratively with the Product Owner as well as Engineers, Architects, Customer Journey Manager's and Integrators to help building the feature team capability.

What you'll need…

• Drawing on your knowledge of Test Automation to achieve key outcomes and support organisational goals.

• Be involved in hands-on development and maintenance of our test automation and find ways to increase the intelligence within it.

• Working with our Engineering Leads, you will be shaping the strategy, and defining the technical solutions on how we integrate our automation beyond our applications and developing tools which can be used wider across our Platform and neighbouring Platforms.

• Through our model, we encourage sharing of new solutions and techniques within the chapter and with other parts of the wider payments engineering platform.

• Apply your expertise to act as the organisational authority on Building, Maintaining and Improving Payments Test Automation.

• BDD Cucumber Framework. (TestNG Framework experience welcomed as well)

• Technology Stack - JUnit, Java, Spring Boot, Jenkins and GitHub, Maven, Nexus, Eclipse, Selenium, Oracle/SQL DB.

It would be great if you also had…

• Strong knowledge of Cloud computing concepts and technologies such as virtualisation and microservices.

• Development and performance tuning of APIs.

This role presents a great opportunity to play an integral role in the delivery of the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) assurance testing programme and contribute towards the management of Financial Reporting risk across the Group.

You'll develop an understanding of the risks and controls within key end-to-end processes across the Group and learn how data flows all the way from product origination (e.g. a customer taking out a personal loan online) through to financial reporting of associated balances, income, costs and impairment and ultimately the disclosures in the Financial Statements in the Annual Report and Accounts.

Key to success in this role is the ability to plan your workload to meet team priorities, strong communication and influencing skills, a continuous improvement approach and proven capability in control identification and assessment.

Responsibilities:

• Delivery of independent assurance assessments, primarily Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) control design and operating effectiveness testing across a wide variety of processes and teams on behalf of the Divisional / Functional Business Partners.

• Planning, prioritisation and organisation of allocated testing to meet delivery deadlines

• Manipulation, analysis and interpretation of multiple data sources to reach testing conclusions, sharing insights identified.

• A passion for continuous improvement to help drive efficiencies & promote effective ways of working, including the use of agile testing tools.

• Curiosity to understand and, where appropriate, challenge the existing end-to-end controls to mitigate financial / prudential / regulatory / operational risk.

Where does the role sit?

We're the central hiring team at Lloyds Banking Group and we run the recruitment for roles that are always needed and in high demand across the group.

You'll be taken through a centralised application, technical testing, and interviewing process, then if successful offered one of our available roles depending on your chosen location.

We currently have over 50 Quality Engineering positions available across a range of divisions and locations in the UK.

What exactly does a Quality Test Engineer do at Lloyds?

Depending on your level of seniority you'll either take accountability or support running and leading testing across our monthly release cycle, assuring the quality of delivery into these releases. You'll also manage the raising of defects and backlog items for addressing defects within the current sprint or for prioritisation for future sprints.

We've got a wide range of roles, some of which are working within a team of quality engineers while other roles may be stand alone as part of the quality engineering community.

We operate in an Agile software engineering environment using modern DevOps methods, continuous improvement & modern software stacks.

Example of Specific Activities:

• Automating testing where appropriate, updating and streamlining the test automation framework & coding standards.

• Use your experience of modern software development toolsets and demonstrate the ability to stretch into DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines.

• Supporting Quality Engineering and Assurance work ensuring the highest quality of shippable products and quality artifacts.

• Develop yourselves with industry standards, methods and tooling used across our engineering teams and introduce new concepts, approaches and tooling.

What do we need to see from your application?

We're keen to see diverse and varied applications, however as this is a technology role in a niche industry area we'll need to see the following as a minimum to be considered for interview;

• Essential to have a deep understanding of Frameworks and have developed as least one automation framework using libraries in either Selenium or Playwright.

• Intermediate competency competent in JavaScript/typescript

• Competent using Windows Command Line (CLI)

• Experienced with Source control (GitHub Enterprise preferred)

• Experienced with build tools such as Maven and Node Package Manager (NPM)

• Experience of modern Agile software engineering practices

• Good communication & interpersonal skills plus ability to work in a team.
