We’re looking for Senior Procurement & Contracts Specialist to support our key Nuclear New Build stakeholders and the Digital and IT Senior Manager in Supply Chain at HPC to source, procure, develop and manage a suite of contracts to support the ambition of the Nuclear New Build programme.
The OpportunityYour core focus will be on HPC but you may also have the opportunity to support Sizewell C Business (SZC). You’ll act as a point of reference for the business and suppliers and will also work with the broader Supply Chain Team to ensure all opportunities are optimised. Being seen as an embedded resource in the wider HPC Digital and IT stakeholder community.
You’ll identify essential third-party services to support business plans, develop robust supply chain strategies and lead on complex IT procurement. You’ll gain stakeholder buy-in, ensuring the timely delivery of a diverse portfolio of contracts that align with the agree supply chain strategy.
As a Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist you may need to travel to attend project briefs and meetings although it is expected that digital communication is utilised where possible.

Sourcing ‘First of a Kind’ (FOAK) Digital Technology. Develop and implement the Supply Chain Strategy for the HPC area, aligning with the overall business strategy and considering other activities within the Supply Chain portfolio. Ensure timely and professional execution of the strategy.
Collaborate with business support teams, including Legal and other stakeholders, to deliver the portfolio. Manage workflows to ensure the acquisition of goods and services meets business expectations promptly.
Conduct all supply chain activities ethically and in compliance with HPC governance, ensuring suppliers align with EDF’s ambitions for HBANZ (Helping Britain Attain Net Zero) and sustainability goals.
Work closely with HPC commercial teams, adhering to HPC Digital and IT procurement processes and approvals. Negotiate and secure agreements that provide value propositions for the business, leveraging group procurement synergies where practical.
Develop a supplier base that suits the organization's size and complexity, mitigating supplier risks effectively. Seek collaboration opportunities with other EDF energy entities to maximise value.
Ensure third-party suppliers and contractors align with our health, safety, environment, and quality standards. Generate and record savings through effective supply chain management, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services at the required quality and agreed costs.
Manage exceptions proactively, implementing and following up on mitigating actions. Mitigate risks through effective contracts and professional relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
Oversee the HPC license renewal process, working with internal teams to ensure timely reviews and renewals. Develop and manage a procurement and contracts work pipeline.
Who you are
You excel at transforming business and project needs into precise commercial contracts, working seamlessly with the Legal team. Your knack for negotiating commercial constructs is finely tuned to support business objectives effectively.
Stakeholder management is your forte, especially with Senior Management, where your advice is valued at all levels. You bring a wealth of experience in awarding and developing contracts and strategic procurement for complex, high-value projects.
You will have good communication and presentation skills ensuring that your key stakeholders are informed of progress and commercial issues.
Your deep understanding of contract and commercial law, along with expertise in contractual terms and conditions, sets you apart. You're adept at managing procurement processes, from supplier sourcing to documentation, evaluation, selection, and overseeing high-value, multi-discipline contracts.
With a sharp commercial acumen, you grasp complex commercial issues and drive intricate negotiations to successful conclusions. You thrive in cross-functional team environments and possess strong project planning skills.
You understand the intricacies of working in a CAPEX or project-led environment. Ideally, you are a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or are working towards this professional qualification, although this is not essential.
