General Summary
RM Warehouse Lead is responsible for providing value to customer. This is accomplished by planning and administering dock/kitting assignments. Responsible for overseeing the efficient and organized management of raw materials within the warehouse. This role involves supervising a team, coordinating inventory activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing processes to meet production demands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations
1. Supervise and lead a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a cohesive and productive working environment. Develop and implement Kitting work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operation. Review warehouse operations to ensure the warehouse is neat, secure, and well organized; and that damage to the product, equipment, and the facility is prevented and/or reported. Ensure that all safety procedures are followed. Assist in conducting physical inventories. Work directly with the supervisor to ensure that daily operations are being carried out properly and that resources are allocated properly.
2. Reporting/Measurements
Ensure all warehouse activity records are prepared in a timely manner and efficiently maintained. Review operating goals and standards daily to monitor achievement.
Quality
3. Responsible for making recommendations to the management regarding continuous improvement of department work processes and operating procedures. Participate in High Performance Work Teams. Implement measures to prevent damage, spoilage, or contamination of raw materials. Participate in the Lean program.
4. Process Optimization
Process Optimization: Find opportunities to improve warehouse processes, streamline workflows, and enhance overall efficiency. Implement standard methodologies and meet requirements and reduce lead time.
5. Inventory Management
The Lead must assist Inventory Control to ensure accurate inventory. Must maintain and update inventory records, perform all daily activities vital to maintain effective inventory management procedures. Communicate any inventory discrepancies that cannot be resolved to Inventory Control for further investigation.
6. Safety/Sanitation/Housekeeping
Lean manufacturing processes including 5S must be followed at all times. Keep warehouse and work area clean, neat and orderly. Recognize our customer and BD’s commitment to pride and Quality. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct all activities in a manner that promotes a safe environment. All injuries and accidents must be reported immediately to a supervisor or manager.
7. Cross Training
Become knowledgeable with responsibilities of the other positions as advised by management. Assist as required. Act as backup at times of absence or vacation.
Miscellaneous / Other:
Facilitate effective communication within the warehouse team and cross-functional departments. Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to meet supply chain demands.
Education/ and or Experience:
High School diploma/ GED or at least 2 years warehouse experience
Forklift experience (required)
SAP Knowledge
Previous experience in a warehouse leadership role, preferably in a raw material setting. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse operations.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects.
Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.
General warehouse operations knowledge.
The position will sometimes have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment and exposure to precarious situations.
All Teammates are responsible for full participation in the daily stretching program. Participate in physical inventories. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
