We're urgently seeking a Communication Support Worker (BSL) to provide vital support to students with hearing impairments and additional needs. You'll play an instrumental role in ensuring that our students can fully participate in all aspects of college life, both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• BSL Communication Support: Facilitate clear and effective communication between students and staff, using British Sign Language to interpret lessons, discussions, and activities.
• Inclusive Learning: Work closely with the teaching team to adapt learning materials and classroom activities, ensuring accessibility for students with a variety of special educational needs (SEND).
• One-to-One Support: Provide personalized support to students, understanding their unique needs, strengths, and learning styles to help them thrive in their studies.
• Empathy and Understanding: Build strong relationships with students, particularly those from diverse social backgrounds, or those with sensory impairments and complex learning needs, to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaboration: Liaise with the SEND department, parents, and external specialists to ensure all students receive tailored support.

What We're Looking For:

• Proficiency in BSL: Level 3 or above preferred.
• Experience in supporting students with SEND, especially those with hearing impairments.
• Empathy & Flexibility: A genuine understanding of, and willingness to learn about, the unique needs of students from diverse social and educational backgrounds.
• Patience & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to support students with varying communication and learning needs.

What skills and experience we're looking for

There is a vacancy for a committed and dynamic Teacher in Charge of Performing Arts and Media to be based across both sites of the Francis Barber PRU (Tooting & Wandsworth). You will be delivering the Performing Arts and Media teaching across both sites of the PRU to both KS3 and KS4 students (up to GCSE level). In addition, you will also hold the role of keyworker to a small group of students and will be responsible for monitoring their progress and well-being. You will be able a flexible person able to adapt to the needs of our pupils. There is scope for the successful candidate to build and develop the future of the subject.

What the school offers its staff

Francis Barber works with groups of secondary aged pupils who have found education challenging in mainstream schools or who have moved into the borough and are awaiting a school place.

This post is based across both sites of the Francis Barber PRU in central Wandsworth and in Tooting.

We are a very good PRU and have very high expectations for our pupils. There is a friendly and welcoming ethos and a variety of activities both during the day and after school. These, along with good keyworking, help young people make changes which enable them to be successful in their education.

Many of the pupils have faced challenges in mainstream schools. Some continue to be challenging in the PRU, but there is a strong staff team helping the young people to manage their behaviour within a supportive and caring school-like environment.

We value the individual strengths which pupils and staff can equally contribute to the development of positive and co-operative relationships. Purpose:

Support the Head of Social in creating both internal and brand marketing design assets, as well as supporting our social channels
with scheduling, copywriting and carrying out community management for multiple brands in The Compleat Food Group.

Your Duties Will Include:

* Use Adobe Suite to create and edit social media content for all brands, both static and video
* Bring ideas for social and digital branded content creation
* Create assets for internal comms and LinkedIn
* Support with photography/videography shoots
* Work with the Head of Social to develop and execute social content calendars as part of the wider strategic plans for each
brand
* Daily community management
* Plan and schedule branded content using social media management tools
* Develop and maintain relationships with content creators and other brands
* Manage our asset library (corporate and brands), understanding the different “tones” for each of the different brands



Experience and Skills:

* Experience in a creative graphics designs role and/or social media and community management role
* A strong understanding and experience of all social media channels
* Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
* Ability to work to deadlines with desire to ‘go the extra mile’ when required
* Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
* Portfolio of previous work
* Have a passion for food
* Willingness to travel to multiple sites across the UK
* Experience of working in a FMCG business (desirable)
* Experience of working with a leading UK major multiple retailer or brand (desirable)
* Driving Licence (desirable)
