What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a caring, nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will spend two days a week in our nursery class, you will be supporting pupils aged from two up to when they start reception at four years old.

You will spend the other three days a week supporting pupils of various ages as part of our “Rockpool” - Targeted Mainstream Provision (TMP) for children with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) for the primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health.

The provision for each child is tailored to their individual needs, with academic input, work on their EHCP targets, and addressing the gaps in their Boxall profile. Each bespoke timetable created by senior staff will ensure that gaps in each child’s development will be reduced and that their strengths and abilities are nurtured and allowed to flourish within a small, safe environment.

We also support children in moving between the Rockpool and the relevant mainstream class, so that our children can develop friendships with their peers and gradually increase the time spent with their year group cohort.

This is a wonderfully rewarding opportunity to see your positive influence upon the pupils’ development. You will work within our provision alongside the class teacher and other support staff.

You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and will also liaise with the SENCO, support staff and other professionals in order to provide appropriate support to our pupils.

Essential Qualifications

• English and Maths GCSE level ‘C’ or above or equivalent

The post of General Teaching Assistant is a key post in supporting the learning and general wellbeing as part of a close team alongside the classroom teacher. We operate using nurture principles and our students spend the vast majority of their week in the same room with their classroom tutor. When they move to a specialist subject our TAs move with the class to support the specialist teacher and provide that in depth continuity throughout the day. What skills and experience we're looking for



We are seeking to appoint a Librarian to support, manage and develop a vibrant and resourceful library environment for our students.



The successful candidate will support the reading for power agenda by promoting reading for pleasure and increasing engagement in reading.



Qualifications required are 4 GCSEs grade 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and Maths and a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, together with experience in maintaining records and using computer systems effectively.
