The school are now looking to recruit a full time Science Technician to start in, January 2024, Who will be responsible for providing technical support in Science subjects, and coordinating the use of practical resources and facilities in the Science Department. We are seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager who will be required to have a hands on approach to get involved in problem solving and manage small projects alongside the administration and keeping the various systems up to date.

This role will be involved in all aspects of the Facilities across the varied and interesting BFI London sites ranging from the BFI IMAX and its 500 seat large screen experience through to our offices and event spaces. It’s a fantastic environment to learn about providing a safe, secure and engaging building across a wide range of activities and environments.

Key responsibilities include:

To manage the systems which are required as part of the agile working environment such as the desk booking and access control system.

Managing incoming requests to the Facilities helpdesk system, identifying the issue and identifying the most appropriate solution and keeping the client up to date through the entire process.

To function as the project manager for minor works projects ensuring that they are conducted to specification and in a safe and timely manner with full regard to legislation and health & safety procedures.

We are looking for candidates who have:

IOSH certification required and NEBOSH NGC in Health and Safety desirable

A good understanding of Health and Safety and maintenance within a multi-use public building

Experience of writing instructions for procedures and processes

GRAHAM FM will provide services related to both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance of facilities in relation to mechanical and electrical assets, building fabric, roofing, roller shutter doors, fire alarm systems, domestic gas boilers and legionella monitoring .

The Water Hygiene Technician will:

Undertake routine monitoring and maintenance of building water systems as part of a Legionella Control Program in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG 274
Monitor inspections will involve temperature testing of water outlets, TMVs, inspection of cold water storage tanks and hot water storage vessels, water sample collection, showerhead disinfection, and logbook updating & auditing
Undertake maintenance tasks may include plumbing repairs, alterations and installation works associated domestic hot & cold water systems
Work in a multi-site capacity therefore you must be prepared to travel throughout the region
Complete inspections using a mobile handheld device and web based electronic log book system
Undertake other water hygiene related tasks as required including Monitoring, Maintenance and Remediation works
complete TMV Servicing, Inspection & Replacements
Clean & Disinfections to Hot & Cold water systems
Plumbing Remedials

Essential Criteria

Demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role
Current Full UK Driver’s Licence

Desirable Criteria

Demonstrate previous experience in related water system remediation/maintenance works
City & Guilds or similar accredited Legionella control training
Demonstrate plumbing qualification, C&G Level 1, 2 or above
Demonstrate working knowledge of the respective legislation and guidance material (HSC ACoP L8, HSG 274, Water Regulations)
Previous experience in the maintenance, servicing and testing of Chemical Water Treatment services
