An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Federated ICT Technician based in the Argoed High School to provide IT support for a number of local primary schools. Technical support will be provided both remotely and through onsite visits. The post, one of six within the Authority, offers an opportunity to gain experience in an education environment and to enhance your current skills and knowledge.
You will be educated to HNC / Level 4 in an appropriate discipline with relevant experience or able to demonstrate substantial relevant experience including provision of technical support. Experience of working in a technical environment is required involving use of, and ideally provision of support for, servers, storage, user devices plus system and application software as well as electronic communications.
The Federated ICT Technician will work on a range of tasks both individually and in partnership with the Authority’s ICT Traded Service and external service providers. It is essential that the Federated ICT Technician builds a trusted and valued relationship with school staff and service providers.
You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the project exciting new build that is taking place, with team support transferring and setting up the ICT across all aspects of the new site.
Candidates must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Travelling expenses will be paid in accordance with Local Authority policy.
