Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join the Motor Vehicle team at our Cambridge Campus.

You will provide high quality technician support to learning programmes within the automotive department in addition to undertaking other associated duties. The post holder will also contribute to course design and team meetings, development of practical work for programmes and the expansion of the area generally. The successful applicant to this post will report to the Team Leader in Motor Vehicle for day-to-day duties and for personnel and other non-specific duties. This role could be the starting point to a journey into teaching and assessing for those looking to progress.
The role will predominately based at our Cambridge campus but some travel may be needed to our Huntingdon campus at times.

Main Responsibilities
1. Maintain and repair all equipment in all workshops and training areas.
2. Prepare and set up equipment, tools and assessment areas for practical sessions and demonstrations.
3. Assist lecturing staff during practical sessions and demonstrations.

Job Title: Animal Care Technician (Teaching Support Officer)

Our specialist companion animal care centre is home to over 200 animals ranging from livestock, exotics and companion animals which includes birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. The role of Animal Care Technician is to work on a daily basis with the animals completing all husbandry needs and ensuring high standards of animal welfare, with part of the role supporting learners in practical sessions.
Our animal care courses ensure that our students leave us with the scientific, practical and administrative skills they need for their careers in animal care. This campus is really all about the animals and has a real community feel to it. We are passionate about our animals and the education and training we provide to our students- the next generation of animal care specialists.
You will support a range of classes and courses within the Faculty and Programme Area. As a Teaching Support Officer in Dog Grooming you will play a vital role to ensure the smooth operational running of our K9 Dog Grooming parlour at the Wisbech Campus. This is a varied role with a focus on working with our students in the parlour and kennels ensuring that stock and equipment are maintained, as well as providing practical support to learners.
Our salons are open to the public Monday- Friday allowing our students to get the best hands on experience, so that they leave with industry ready skills and experience. We have invested heavily into the salon to ensure that our students and customers receive the best grooming experience.
Your experience and qualifications in dog grooming are far more important than experience in a classroom environment. CWA is proud of its track record of supporting our staff to achieve qualifications.
A full Level 3 dog grooming qualification is essential, and have a Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE A*-C/9-4) or equivalent or be willing to obtain. Holding a first aid qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.

Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Hair, Beauty and Make up technician to join our Service Industries team at Cambridge Campus. This role will provide support to teaching staff, reception and learners within the Hair, Beauty & Make-Up courses which make up part of the Service Industries Department. The successful candidate will be required to prepare classrooms ensuring that they are maintaining a safe, hygienic and effective working environment and maintaining associated stock and equipment. You will set up products and equipment for practical sessions and demonstrations from Lecturer requests. You will also support reception with booking salon appointments for our commercial salon.
The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy or Media Make-Up, as well as experience of working within the industry. Customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing are also essential.
