THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
● To be responsible to the School Business Leader (SBL) for various duties relating to the security, operations, facilities management and monitoring of the school site, including the management and supervision of contractors on site.
● To lead a team to ensure that the school buildings, facilities, and grounds are maintained to the highest possible standard and are in proper working order. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
● Previous substantial experience within an FM / Site / Building environment.
● Practical experience and knowledge of health & safety legislation and its application in a multi-user sit and ability to lead a small team and allocate work.
● Time management and communication skills.
● Able to cope with the physical demands and changing priorities of the post.
● The post holder needs a good level of practical skills, which may have been gained from various sources, e.g., working in a trade, previous FM experience, etc., and experience working in a multi-disciplinary role with a range of customers.

spreadsheets, databases; safe use of ladders and platforms, manual handling techniques, fire

The Role We are looking to recruit a second deputy facilities manager to enhance the leadership capacity in our site team. You will work alongside our current deputy facilities manager, with the clear division of responsibilities decided after appointment to suit both the skills of those in post and the business needs of the school. The role will include shared responsibility for compliance across the school site, delegation of tasks through the trusts electronic ticketing system, ensuring school porterage requests are met, liaison and reporting to the Gordano Hub Estate lead and the school Leadership team. Site safety and project management of some of the site works are very much part of the role for the deputy site managers, who are in control of the deployment of the site team resources on a daily basis. To be considered for this position you must have: Experience of caretaking/maintenance work. Preferably some experience of the role of compliance in the running of an estate. Good organisational and communication skills, including competency in using IT systems. A willingness to be fully involved in the life of a school community, and to be working in an environment with young people. It is important that applicants recognise the safeguarding responsibilities that all adults in schools hold, and the checks that are needed to allow all adults in school communities to work there. The role will involve contact with students in the school, and the successful applicant will need to fully understand, and undertake regular training updates on, our safeguarding protocols and how to report on these if needed. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sparsholt College Equine Team. Working under the guidance of the Equine Centre Manager we are looking for a full-time head technician to lead and support the current team of Equine Technicians at our College and BHS approved livery yard. A key function of the role is to supervise students and facilitate their learning experience in a real working environment. This will include supervision and support of practical skills and development to maintain high standards in the care, husbandry, and training of our horses. The post holder will lead by example ensuring a positive, educational student experience that learner focused and rewarding.
Outside of these sessions you will be working alongside the Equine team to provide high quality care to the college horses ensuring that the horses at the Equine Centre are kept in accordance with BHS standards. The post holder will also be responsible for aspects of administration, organisation, and the carrying out of day-to-day operation and activities associated with a dynamic Equine Centre including delivery of a varied events and competition calendar. Schooling of the College horses is included in this role with an opportunity to compete in on site competitions for suitable candidates.
Working hours will include a weekend day and some evening cover.
