Experience: 5 plus years of related industry; 5 plus years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility pork or beef preferred ; and knowledge of OSHA USDA and HAACP regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Schedule and coordinate departmental activities to meet schedule attainment, productivity requirements and deliver quality manufactured products.
• Ensure a positive approach to employee relations for all employees.  Maintain effective lines of communication with employees, leads and peers.  Resolve employee issues through established channels.
• Administer all policies and procedures as established fairly and consistently.
• Lead by example, coach, and mentor all employees.
• Monitor cost reductions, such as waste, scrap, damage and rework.  Evaluate and monitor production flow to anticipate bottlenecks and disconnects that will affect output.
• Maintain time and attendance records.
• Identify issues, gather input from peers and employees and problem solve with recommendations and solutions
• Communicate to team leads and employees information about departmental, plant, company events, changes, activities, policies, news and updates
• Support and follow through Employee Opinion Survey action items
• Lead the activities of hiring, performance reviews, corrective actions, and scheduling of employees in area.
• Supervise the successful transition of new products, new technology, and new employees into the production area.
• Balances quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in production area.  Works to continuously improve in all areas.
• Evaluate and act upon departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular reports to manager.
• Determine and procure tools and equipment as needed.

• Lead and support safety initiatives, policies, and procedures to ensure plant operations are safe and consistent with company and governmental standards and help reduce accidents and injuries.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree with concentration in manufacturing or equivalent experience, with a 4-year degree preferred.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish required
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, Outlook, inventory control applications.
• Supervisory or leadership training preferred with a minimum two years supervisory experience preferred in a manufacturing setting
• Must have strong communication skills; ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization
• Employee development experience
• Knowledge of press brakes, routers, lasers, or turret punches preferred.
• Demonstrated project management skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations
• Analytical ability is required to gather and summarize data to find solutions to various production problems and prioritize work.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications

WHAT YOU’LL DO AS A PROCESSING PANEL OPERATOR

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality and safety system.
• Responsible for the manufacturing of liquid adult, pediatric and medical nutritional products. Lifting and physical handling of raw ingredients during the weighing, staging and manufacturing processes, material handling/dispensing, operations of scales, portable pumps, container rinsers, homogenizers
• Hand Cleaning, clean-in-place (CIP), heat treatment systems, cleaning-out-of-place (COP), routine housekeeping
• Interaction with computer systems that are integrated into the manufacturing process along with documentation of manufacturing steps in accordance with work order and job procedures.
• Preparation/operation/monitoring/documentation of bulk slurries for blending operations, heat treatment processes, controlled weigh system of batch ingredients
• Operation/monitoring/documentation of a computer-controlled clean-in-place (CIP) system utilized for manufacturing equipment (i.e. tanks, heat treatment system, etc.)
• Receipt and unloading of bulk raw ingredients and CIP chemicals
• You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to continuously lift up to 50lbs throughout the shift
• Knowledge of food processing techniques and documentation requirements.
• Ability to read and follow work order documents, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and operate powered industrial vehicles.
• Should possess a good mechanical aptitude and solid problem-solving skills.
