Summary
The Planner schedules work in accordance with the program schedule. Deciphers engineering drawings, engineering release notices and engineering orders to determine proper action such as requesting parts through material planning as needed and building parts in the shops. Assures schedule adherence and program priorities by having both purchased parts and build parts arrive in time to meet the program schedule. Provides project support to department managers, group leaders, and staff of Hardware Integration and Deployment. Maintains communication with program management, project technicians, production coordinators/planners, material planning, and support departments (such as Mechanical and Electrical Deployment) to monitor the status of product delivery. Might assist other planners in resolving problems with late deliveries and recovery plans for projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Enters data into various Hardware Deployment databases
- Evaluates due dates to ensure they align with schedule need dates
- Prepares the necessary documentation for items being shipped out of plant
- Orders necessary tools and parts needed by the hardware deployment group.
- Extracts various reports from Cognos, JIRA, Costpoint, and/or other reporting systems to evaluate priorities
- Keeps data integrity in Costpoint as it relates to MRP
- Maintains operational reports that successfully reflect and aid key project and operational goals.
- Keeps the work order database updated and accurate
- Coordinates with material planning and/or purchasing to acquire needed parts for projects
- Understanding of the bill of materials (BOM) along with a solid knowledge of part numbers and CAE USA Inc. part number philosophy.
- Interfaces continuously with other planners to determine changes to existing orders/plans on projects
- Familiarization with engineering change notices (ECN), work order system, log system, and other CAE specific software tools.
- Analyzes ECN’s on a daily basis
- Maintain inventory integrity of the storerooms using the database
- Ability to perform work assignments with minimal supervision
- Sound knowledge and understanding of production control and manufacturing processes
- Provides guidance to less experienced co-workers
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Two years’ certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in similar environment or related field required
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess intermediate level Excel skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be computer literate
- Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to work with internal and external customers.
Language Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

- Able to work in a regular office environment.
- ABLE TO WORK TO A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE AND OVERTIME AS REQUIRED.
