Role: Production Operative - Raw Meat Products

Location: Leighton Buzzard, LU7

Shift: 08.00am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. You may be asked to work the occasional Saturday 09.00 -4.00pm.

Temporary: immediate start

Pay: starting from £ 11.50 per hour rising to £12.15 per hour (when milestones are met)

The role

As a Production Operative, you'll work in our client's factory, cutting and preparing halal lamb and beef to be vacuum packed for shops. You will need to learn different machines within the factory. This is a chilled factory because the nature of the products so the temperature is always 8 degrees so you must be able to work in a chilled environment.

You'll need to:

* Be prepared to work and handle raw meat
* Be capable of manual handling tasks (including regularly lifting raw materials
* Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail to follow procedures safely and efficiently
* Be able to work to deadlines
* Maintain hygiene standards - we are a food factory. Full training will be given to work to expected
standards

The role will also involve:

* Operating certain machines (such as bin lifts and mixers); prior experience is desirable, but training will be
provided
* Carrying out pre-start checks on your area of responsibility to verify our safe ways of working are being
adhered to

As the warehouse uses wet concrete it is not a clean environment. You will need to keep your working area clean using 5S principals. Help maintain factory machinery and vehicles. Assist with daily cleaning tasks whilst working safely, following all health and safety guidelines, including proper lifting, wearing PPE, and reporting any equipment defects. Maintain the high quality of products by regularly inspecting them.

The Ideal Candidate
Ideally you will come from a background such as construction, roofing, scaffolding, ground-works or building however other backgrounds will be considered. You will need excellent time keeping and attendance with a self-motivated team focus attitude. The ability to learn about all the machines in the different departments and able to communicate with. The site is tasked to fulfil orders on output so you will need to work as a team to achieve these targets so you will need to work well under pressure.

Purpose of the role

The Transport Operator will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day transport operation with a focus on the quality, H&S and
transport compliance on site.

The individual will be responsible for ensuring that Movianto’s client deliveries are processed and booked in with customers in a
timely and correct manner, providing ongoing support using various IT systems, answering queries and ensuring our drivers have all
the information they require.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensuring all daily deliveries are scanned into the DC, allocated onto manifests, and scanned on vehicles and monitored
throughout the course of the day following all SOP’s and compliance
* Ensuring that all drivers are pre-briefed and debriefed in conjunction with the debrief process using various systems (TMS,
Verilocation, Tachomaster, Odyssey, Fleet Check), and that all paperwork is accurately completed and signed
* Dealing with any problems that arise, communicating effectively to resolve and ensure all deliveries and collections are made
on time and in full. Making sure the individual is always available to assist drivers with their queries when out delivering
* Providing an excellent service to our internal and external customers, both for incoming and outbound calls
* Ensuring inspections, servicing, MOTs, and defects are completed in line with DVSA regulations
* Holding responsibility of Health and Safety on site including a focus on the reduction of the number of accidents and incidents
* Responsibility for aspects of the MHRA and Road haulage legal compliance as delegated by Distribution Centre Manager
* Ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to customers, both internal and external with a clear focus on excellent
customer care, acting as a brand ambassador
* Actioning delivery bookings by contacting any delivery point that require goods to be booked in, liaising with Distribution

not received are communicated to Customer service teams

* Responding to internal vehicle chill alerts, managing deviations and temperature excursions as delegated

* Data inputting, maintaining documents and managing numerous spreadsheets and reports
* Managing depot security by completing random personnel and vehicle searches
* Supporting cross dock operations, loading, and unloading using FLT
* Ability to support on road with deliveries in case of staff shortages, or emergencies
* Carrying out initial HR Meetings with Teammates at the appropriate level such as Investigation Meetings or Return to work

We are recruiting Production Operatives to join our client for an immediate start.

Shift Details:

* Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
* Opportunities for overtime

Salary:

* Starting at £12.88 to £14.62 per hour, with opportunities for progression based on skills.

Contract:

* Temporary with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work safely, following all health and safety guidelines, including proper lifting, wearing PPE, and reporting any equipment defects.
* Help maintain factory machinery and vehicles.
* Ensure the production of high-quality bricks by regularly inspecting for defects and ensuring only quality products go into stock.
* Minimise waste and keep scrap levels low.
* Keep work areas clean and organised using 5S principles.
* Assist with daily cleaning tasks.
* Adhere to environmental policies (ISO 14001) and ensure proper waste disposal.
* Be flexible with tasks and shifts as required to meet production targets.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, sharing ideas to improve production processes.

Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer that is making a huge investment in the factory over the next 5 years. Due to this growth and new production lines being installed, they are looking for flexible and approachable production team leader to lead their team of shift production staff.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for being first line of contact on shift for all production & packaging operations
• Shopfloor position, managing issues, workload allocation, production plans and progress reports
• Work closely with the production lead to plan for the weeks production plans and map out in advance
• Part of the duty manager on-call weekend rota - covering 1 in 3 Saturdays & Sundays
• Waste management -monitor materials and stock levels, chemical & harmful waste contract supplies
• Health & safety, risk & COSHH assessments, food safety - part of the HACCP team
• Monthly GMP audits

Job Title: Production Supervisor (Packing)

Hours: Permanent - Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

• 1 week in 3 shift patterns - which will consist of working a combination of:

Job Purpose

Through organization and exceptional team management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management, planning and control of resources associated with this Packing Area. They will enhance and enable their team to pack coffee products in accordance with schedules, prioritizing the safety of the operation, meeting quality standards, controlling costs and reducing wastage. The goal is to ensure that the packing operations creates value for customers, employees and the company.

The Main Responsibilities

• To perform supervisor food safety and health and safety checks within a timely manner; and to report any failures, oversights or issues with quality assurance.
• Ensure your company radio and mobile telephone are charged and available at any time during your working day.
• Respond to all correspondence, internal or external, to ensure a smooth running operation.
• A four-week staff rota to be in place at all times to allow the Planning Manager to plan production so to never leave the team short.
• Arrange sufficient cover before processing staff holidays
• You will be responsible for opening and locking factory, to start up and shutdown production line machines
• To ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies adopted by the client. Liaising with the Health and Safety Committee to monitor and develop procedures to ensure that the Company has the appropriate structures, systems and processes in place to meet its statutory Health and Safety responsibilities.
• To maintain excellent GMP standards at all times in the Packing Area, delivering quality standards required of customers and external audits, for example BRC.
• To ensure 100% compliance with the product specification to deliver product within agreed quality parameters
• To manage and control the data collection systems and monitoring processes, ensuring that all documentation and communication is processed and delivered to the cross functional departments, as required on a timely and regular basis.
• To motivate, manage, train and develop team workers. To take responsibility for the counselling's and identify training and development needs, liaising with the 'Assessors' to ensure the business has an effective, multi-skilled and engaged workforce.
• To ensure the Packing area runs at optimal output in accordance to production plans, whilst spotting opportunities for continuous improvement.
• To ensure set KPI's are met with the resources at your disposal and report reasons when not met.
• To manage and control costs, yields and giveaway within the Packing Department.

Other

To carry out any other duties that may be required which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and its grading. This may include covering for staff holiday/sickness and Production Manager.
