The major duties of the Motor Vehicle Operator will include, but are not limited to:

• Transporting employees throughout the southeastern part of the state of Michigan, primarily the Metro Detroit area.
• Operating vehicles of all sizes, some of which will require a state-issued commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Maintaining an accurate log sheet of all motor vehicles.
• Completing a pre and post operator check of vehicles and equipment for proper fluid levels (water, windshield washer, oil, brake and transmission) whenever required for use.
• Completing a check of air pressures, conditions of tires, etc.

This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4/G-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to plan, schedule, control, and monitor the status of equipment maintenance; and to assist a higher-graded Production Controller.

DUTIES
1. Establishes plans, schedules, and controls the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. Implements maintenance plans and monitors progress of accomplishments.

2. Studies directives, modification work orders, and regulations as to their application in the unit. Assists supervisory personnel in determining impact of these requirements on shop capability.

3. Designates and maintains current maintenance repair priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities, (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations) and unit supported.

4. Provides assistance to ensure that Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line-Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports and system management.

5. Analyzes repair methods and recommends control procedures to ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Coordinates with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders.

6. In the absence of the higher graded production controller, ensures that unit CL IX accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness; and performs demand analysis on CL IX expenses to determine proper PLL stockage to sustain facility mission requirements.

DUTIES

1. Motor Vehicle Operator: Operates a variety of vehicles and support units with up to 30-ton capacity (truck tractor w/full trailer, 5/6 ton flats and/or box truck w/forklift trailer, etc.) to transport a variety of ammunition, explosives, missiles, missile components and inert items. Will occasionally drive other types and sizes of vehicles when required by workload. Work situations within the confines of the installation, will require driving in congested industrial areas, various weight limits, multiple types of intersections, sharp curves, steep hills and rural type roadways and the demands of driving on public roads.

2. Material Handling: Loads and unloads cargo; segregates items according to condition code, lot number, quantity, compatibility, etc./ stores, stacks and palletizes items. Ensures proper storage practices performed/ assembles items for movement; selects items for issue or movement. Checks the condition of items before movement; re- warehouses high explosives, ammunition components, guided missiles, rockets, etc.

3. Packing: Selects appropriate methods of packing a material to be used in packing on the basis of class of items (classified according to shape, mounting provisions and resistance to shock). Check items received against the accompanying condition of packaging. Notes manner in which items should be wrapped and types of material to be used. Inspects seals and other protective material to insure material provide the protection.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Boiler Operation and Maintenance
  • Incumbent is responsible for operation and maintenance of gas-fired boilers using No. 2 oil as a standby energy source and all associated equipment such as Weishaupt burners with a forced draft blowers and variable frequency drives, electric exhaust and fresh air intake blowers/dampers with variable frequency drives, air handling unit with variable frequency drive for combustion air, electronic combustion control systems, centrifugal feed water pumps with variable frequency drives, two-element drum level regulators, a de-aerating/condensate storage tank, reverse osmosis system with a 500 gallon storage tank, Ecolab direct chemical feed system, regulatory valves, governors, low water cut-outs, flow meters, gas analyzers, two 10,000 gal. per hour capacity sodium zeolite systems and an air compressor with dryer.
• Preventive Maintenance & Repairs on Boilers and Auxiliary Equipment
  • Incumbent is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs on all boilers to include cleaning and touch up painting, making regular tests of boiler water samples, adding chemicals and blowing down boilers as necessary to maintain recommended boiler water chemical composition.
• Safety Device Testing
  • Perform safety device testing as indicated in directives, manuals, standard operating procedures, ect. and maintain records of production and other data pertinent to reports as required.
• Monitor Enunciator & Alarm Panels
• Preventive Maintenance on VA Vehicles & Equipment
• Preventive Maintenance/Customer Service for DAV Vans & GSA Vehicles
• Other duties as assigned

The duties of the position may include but are not limited to:

• Incumbent operates one or more types of patient transport vehicles, including emergency vehicles, patient transport vans/buses and other types transport vehicles, capable of carrying up to 8 or more passengers, to and from VA Medical Center facilities, private healthcare facilities, and other private sector areas like patient homes, railway, bus stations and airports.
• Incumbent drives predetermined and/or scheduled routes or special runs. Arrives at and departs from pick up and discharge points at scheduled times.

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, hardworking people to join Alcon! As a Manufacturing Associate supporting our manufacturing site, you will be trusted to work alongside Production Technicians and Electro-Mechanics to help maintain production at Johns Creek, GA.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Installing molding tool plates and fixing the DSMFLEX injection molding process and molded parts

• Performing various electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and/or optical duties

• Constructing, solving problems, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing, and maintaining, equipment, components, devices, or systems

• Working from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions

• Operating related equipment; conducting tests and reporting data in the prescribed format

• Performing calibration and alignment checks; making adjustments, modifications, and replacements as advised

• Working in partnership with Engineers and Electro Mechanics and being multi-functional

• Preparing prescribed compounds and solutions

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

• MA Assessment is required for internal candidates only before hire if no technical degree or certification has been acquired

• Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 days on, 2 days off, and every other weekend)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Injection Molding Experience Highly Preferred

• Experience in or knowledge of working with manufacturing processes, and production in a fast-paced environment

SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, this individual performs the duties of setting up and operating numerically controlled and conventional machine tools within the machining area, producing a variety of diversified finished parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safe Set-up and Operation of CNC equipment with supervision tied to quality, cost and delivery
• Inspection of parts
• Operates standalone and secondary processes independently
• Stand alone equipment is primary job
• Oversee proper daily maintenance of all assigned equipment
• Report any product or equipment concerns to appropriate person
• Maintain proper relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and outside contacts
• Perform and record in-process inspections as required
• Perform other duties and assist in other areas as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

1 years CNC machining experience preferred.

Skills:

• Language Skills – The ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedure manuals and government regulations. Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and business correspondences. Able to communicate well with other employees.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to read blueprints and gauges. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Must pass a mechanical aptitude test.
• Reasoning Ability – Must exhibit common sense ability to carry out functions in written, oral, or diagram form and ability to deal with problems involving abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
