Responsible for performing manufacturing engineering and quality engineering functions through integrating the best quality and manufacturing practices into the developmental and production processes of the company. Performs various professional factory, field and office engineering work related to product development, transition to production, full rate production support and product line close out. Interfaces with design engineering, procurement and manufacturing by providing technical and administrative program support. May provide training and/or technical and function direction to manufacturing labor as well as technical support staff and related departments. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews and interprets engineering drawings, performance and product specifications, electronic files, supplier component specifications and applicable design information. May require only infrequent assistance in understanding unique documentation methods used by Cubic.
Establishes manufacturing sequences, processes, and develops required tooling for the completion of all elements of deliverable program hardware.
Extracts and develops manufacturing concepts and methods that will support customer and company requirements from electrical and mechanical drawings and related engineering data that defines multi-indentured assemblies and systems.
Provides on-going floor support and coordinates efforts in producibility and continuous process and product improvement. Subject Matter Expert in multiple process areas.
Reviews and interprets large / complex contracts to determine the manufacturing and quality requirements of a program.
Provides complex input in concurrent engineering design activities to ensure productivity at the production phase of manufacturing.
Determine critical processes on which to perform trend analysis. Performs trend analysis on these processes to determine compliance of contractual requirements and to improve the manufacturing processes and capabilities.
Reviews and conducts analysis of the company processes affecting assigned programs to establish metrics for monitoring target costs; target process rates in order to provide increased cost savings and cost avoidance.
Ensures flow down and compliance of contractual requirements to suppliers, subcontractors, field support, and departments, e.g. Program Management, Business Development, Inspection, Operations, Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Drafting and Logistics, by generating contract quality data items, quality/manufacturing program plans, and manufacturing/inspection/test procedures.
Supports the coordination of all elements of Program MRB efforts to implement corrective and preventive action.
Performs and directs supplier surveys and audits to assess supplier technical and manufacturing capability, capacity and management oversight sufficient to support any potential contract awards.
Applies project management principals and techniques to assigned manufacturing integration task
- Day shift 4/10: M-Th 6am-4:30pm.
Minimum Job Requirements: Four-year college degree in Industrial Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline plus five years of related experience or applicable master’s degree and three years of related experience. Experience in producibility engineering/ design engineering in an electro-mechanical environment desired. Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Internet Explorer). Must have intermediate understanding of one or more engineering CAD software programs. Thorough knowledge of Design for Manufacture, Design for Cost, or other related design and producibility disciplines. Must have knowledge of work measurement, and standards such as statistical process controls, schedule and cost performance indicators. Must have excellent problem-solving skills to work closely with engineering, manufacturing and procurement personnel in cohesive manner to support project requirements. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to successfully work within a team. Able to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Active Secret Clearance preferred or eligibility for Secret Clearance. Must be a US Citizen.
